Hi-

I am new to the group and will be starting on a clinical trial

involving Xolair and it's effects on people receiving allergy

injections. I don't start the trial until the end of April(due to the

fact I am currently getting over a lower respiratory infection). I

have created a poll and would greatly appreciate it if anyone who has

had any adverse reactions to Xolair, could take it. I just want to

get an idea of what I am in store for. I have been reading past

posts, and as far as I can tell, Xolair is a great new medication.

Thanks Patty

Hi Patty,

If you don't mind, I am interested in hearing more about the clinical

trial you're in. Who is doing the trial, and where is it located? Is

Xolair paid for through the trial? Also, it is a requirement that you

have allergic asthma to participate?

Thanks!

p.s. I am not on Xolair, but would like to try it for my severe

allergy problems. I don't have asthma but I am currently getting

allergy injections.

Welcome to the group. I took allergy shots forever and was still

taking t hem when I started Xolair. I stopped them 4 months into

Xolair b/c I was doing so well. I haven't gone back since. Good luck

with the trial.

Hi -

Well, the trial is being done AAIR Research Center in Rochester,

NY(which is in Upstate NY, near Buffalo, NY). Yes, Xolair is paid for

and so are your allergy shots. I think you have to have allergic

asthma to participate. You're lucky you don't have asthma!

Take care -Patty

Patty,

Thanks for the information on the trial...I appreciate it! I agree, I

am VERY fortunate not to have asthma. Unfortunately I do have an

allergic throat disorder that causes throat swelling, difficulty

swallowing and breathing, etc. It's looking more and more like I'll be

paying for Xolair out of my own pocket. Ouch!

Thanks again,
