Guest guest
: I think Doug is right. It depends on your insurance and the doctor. From the time I qualified, until the time I will actually get my first shot has been a two month process. I could have begun them sooner had my allergist been willing to bill medicare, but he finally decided to send me to a clinic to get the shots and so the process began again, but this time it was two weeks before the clinic called to set up the appointment for the shot. I will still go to my regular allergist for the checkups, etc. Adah (If I sign Gay, that is what I am used to signing as that is what I am called by my family and close friends and sometimes I forget how I signed into this group!--Old age is catching up with me--or is it the prednisone!) <justinlouisville@...> wrote: My doctor is preparing to send my Xolair paperwork to Curascript this week. Guest guest
Hi, . I was aproved with my xolair. My doctors office took care of most of the paper work. It took me longer to decide and to get my sisters to ok it. then I just started the shots and I have been doing great. I am in Minnesota for vacation and it has been hot and humide and my sisters house is under construction. I have had some problems but it has been taken care of with the nebulizar and other asthma pill form medicines. I have been ok. I do stayin side because of the humidity. Or I should say in with air conditioning.... I has my shot a week before I came on vacation and will get my next on after my retreat in Aug. I am crossing my fingers. I did bring my evil candy home with me. But I hope I will not have to use it.... All for now. Guest guest
My approval took a couple of months. The Insurance turned it down the first time with little or no explanation. I appealed, they approved it the second time. Guest guest
Ron, How long did it take to receive the insurance denial? How were you notified - did the specialty pharmacy call you directly to tell you that it had been denied? Thanks! --- In , Carpenter <cowtrail@...> wrote: > > My approval took a couple of months. Guest guest
I think mine was an unusual case (I hope so anyway) The Speciality pharmacy called and said I was approved in about two weeks. They said a Nurse would call for an appointment to show me how to give myself the shots. When the nurse called and found out I did not have the Xolair, needles, etc, she said she would have to check and make another appointment. I called the speciality pharmacy and advised them of the situation. They apologized and said they would get the stuff right out. Another Nursing appointment was made. I still did not get the Xolair and I called the speciality Pharmacy again. They apologized and said they would check and send the Xolair. The pharmacy called back and said I was not approved, they made a mistake, the approval was for " someone else " . I then received a letter from the Insurance Company saying I was not approved. The Dr and I appealed, the Insurance Company kept saying they did not get the appeal or any information on me, even though we had proof of receipt. I then went to my Congressman and his office contacted the insurance Company asking for an explanation to the way my case was handled and why I was turned down. The Insurance company called me and stated they had reviewed my case and found " additional information " and I was now approved. All though the process turned out to be a negative experience, I was eventually approved, I feel because I did not give up! I got the shots in the Dr.'s office for awhile and am now self-injecting at home. Ron On Jul 19, 2006, at 4:49 PM, wrote: > Ron, > > How long did it take to receive the insurance denial?
