Guest guest Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Thanks for the warm welcomes, I found a website through search, I read up on the Xolair, Its real name is " Omalizumab " , I'm not sure If this medicine is for me, I dont get asthma from allergies, I mean dont get me wrong, I can smell just cut grass and can't breathe as well as I was before I smelled it, Same thing with cleaning solutions and perfumes, But I dont think these are allergies like what this medicine is for, Am I right? I still would like to try it though, I'm still going to talk to my doctor about it too, See what he thinks, I can remember having an allergy skin test done years ago, where they put some sort of tape on my back for 24 hours I think, (No bath or shower) Yuck, I remembered being miserable, But The things I was allergic too was only trace things found in other things, I can't really remember what they were, But I'm looking for a miracle drug to take the place of the prednisone too, I'll try anything as long as It's not going to kill me, I forgot to mention that I'm also fighting a habit that I'm trying to kick... Cigarettes. I've been trying to quit for over 5 years, But I keep thinking I can smoke just one and then find myself smoking again, I just quit again on 01/01/06, So far I'm doing okay, No cigarettes in 11 Days, 8 hours, 49 minutes and 6 seconds, I also belong to some no smoking groups in too, I know I smoked because of stress, worry, etc,. I know you all are probably thinking OMG how could I smoke with all my health problems? I ask myself the same thing, But please put me in your prayers, I don't want to die, I'm going to do it this time, I can feel it, I get stronger everytime I quit, I just got to remember not to let anything make me pick up a cigarette, I have went months without smoking, I still didnt feel better as far as my health, I still couldnt walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like I was going to die, My doctor says It will probably take a year of no smoking before I will be able to really tell the difference, Am I the only one who smoked with these health problems in their life? Sorry If I got off topic here, I'll let everybody know what my doctor says when I get back tomorrow, I guess I'll head on over to my no smoking group now, Thanks for listening. Deborah Quote
