Hi Cheryl,

Welcome from a new member also. I have many of the same concerns and

worries as you do. I wonder what lies ahead at times especially when

I am in pain or discouraged because I can't do what I used to. I

found some things to get me on the right track. 1st off you have to

get relief from your pain thru your doctor(pain meds that work etc)

and things you can do yourself. One thing that relaxes me and eases

the pain is a heating pad I bought online called Thermotex. It is

expensive but penetrates deep and puts me to sleep everytime I use

it.I also just started electrotherapy and that feels good, but time

will tell. I also take Norco pain meds can't function without it.

Then to keep myself from becoming depressed and discouraged I do

things in small increments like instead of trying to walk your dog a

whole mile, go 50 feet or whatever you can manage without undue pain

or tiredness. I don't sit or stand for any long periods of time in my

case no longer than 10 minutes, so I just keep doing something

different and laying down to rest my back many times thru the day,

even for 5 minutes helps. At the end of the day I see that I might

actually have accomplished some tasks that I used to do before. And

if not then tomorrow is another day. I do things on a much smaller

scale and it takes me much much longer to do but they are some of the

same things I used to enjoy doing before.

hang in there.
