If you are taking any form of thyroid hormone, this will be pretty much

irrelevant. You get more iodine than your body will hold on to in your

medication, much more than is in iodized salt.

IMHO, no, it is not safe. The RDA and what you get in table salt is on the order

of 0.1 mg. The test is not even in the same ballpark.

If you are determined to try giant slugs of iodine for your health, I suggest

you start around the 2-3 mg range, where problems might occur. If you don't

react there, you might want to try more. However, even that approach has some

risk associated with it, and I am skeptical about any benefit.
