Since I get my eggs from my own chooks, the egg shells quite often have bits of crusted on chook poo on them. Sometimes even some dried blood (not sure which one of my chooks has a sore 'bottom'! LOL). Yes, I know, gross! Well, it kind of makes me wonder what the commercial mobs do to clean the egg shells so well. Before I start making the egg shell calcium concoction, I was wondering if anyone would have any suggestions as to how to clean the egg shells? Water doesn't seem to get them clean and I don't want to use a chemical cleaning product. Any ideas? Anyone out there who has their own chooks and has made the egg shell concoction? Thanks for any advice. ==>Soak the eggshells in warm water and then wipe off any spots with a soft cloth. If warm water doesn't do it well enough you can also add 1/8th cup 3% hydrogen peroxide to a bowl of warm water for soaking. Bee Quote
