Guest guest
> My grandson, Landen was born on Friday at 5:00 by c-section. My daughter's b/p was rising and there was no fluid in the sac. They had to deliver or he would have been stillborn. He seems to be doing fine and has strong lungs because of the shot to mature the lungs. He is only 2lbs. and 10oz. But much better than the two 1lb babies that my daughter had in the past. One is a healthy ten yr. old, and the other was a boy who lived only 4 days. He scored 9 on the apgar test out of 10. There is hope!! The doctor said that my daughter did not develop full blown preeclampsia this time as before. No sign of HELLP syndrome, thanks to God. I'm leaving to go downstate to help out in a couple of days. ==>Congratulations Val! I've been praying for your daughter and grandson too, and I'm so happy they are doing okay. Hooray! God bless you and your lovely family Val. Bee

I'm so thankful to hear that he arrived safely. My second son, now almost 7 months old (4 1/2 adjusted) was also born very early and weighed 2 lbs. I'm glad that you can go down and see the baby and help out your daughter during this time. I'll be praying that she has the help and strength she needs during this stressful time and that Landen's stay in the NICU will be short (as short as it can be) and uneventful. Just a suggestion for you to pass along if you're comfortable, she might consider looking into B. infantis probiotics for Landen. Being born c-section and then pumped full of antibiotics and given formula as preemies often are will really ruin his gut flora. I often wonder if this doesn't play a part in the reflux issues so common to preemies. My ds, Noah, has reflux and a number of food sensitivities via my breastmilk and I wish I'd started him on probiotics sooner. There are a few good ones out there that are only B infantis and are dairy and soy free. If she's pumping milk for him she might even be able to slip some in her pumped milk while he's still at the NICU. Just something I wish I'd known sooner for the health of my son. J.
