Yeast and breastfeeding

Hello,

I just joined this group. I'm a nursing mom and have been struggling

with yeast for the past few months, although actually, I think I've

had problems with it for a lot of my life. I have pain and itching

in my breasts and elsewhere, I'm tired (although I am *on* all day

long with a 16 month old and get up at 5:30 most mornings!), have

frequent headaches, gas, occasional stomach/digestive problems, am

more sensitive to incense and other scents, I feel pretty lousy

these days. I cut out sugar for 3 months or so and took all kinds of

anti-fungals, immune boosters, acidophilus. I thought I was clear

and started slipping on the diet, now it's back and I'm so

discouraged.

I guess I'm struggling a bit with letting go of sugar in a culture

that is so centered around sugar. Plus, because I am nursing I need

to eat a LOT and can't really afford to lose anymore weight. I'm

also a vegan. I was reading in your files about eliminating grains.

I'm worried that I'll lose my milk if I keep cutting things out of

my diet. Can anyone relate? This is totally stressing me

out...trying to balance my desire to kill the yeast, to eat well for

my baby, and to continue the vegan lifestyle that I believe in. Ugh.

I'm going to start oxygen-therapy with my Naturopath. It kills the

yeast in about 3 weeks. I'm going to go back to eliminating fruit

and blatant sugars, but can't see eliminating the grains. I hope

that this is good enough. Does anyone know if tempeh is bad to eat?

I remember reading that it was. We also make kim-chi and I heard

that this is excellent in battling yeast.

Anway, thanks for listening. If anyone has any relevant info. or

words of encouragement I'd be happy to recieve it/them!
