Guest guest
Hi Duncan Thanks for the information, could you possibly advise on one other thing. I have issues with ankylosing spondylitis due to the klebsiella. Normally when I eat anything e.g starch I would get some pain in my back. With Inulin I don't, that suggests to me it is not feeding it but I do get slightly loose stools. Do you know if this normal with increased good bacteria correcting dysbiosis and it stablises after time? To begin with I have only started with a probiotic containing inulin from chicory root rather than pure inulin powder, just to start slowly. The only other thing it could be is the citrobacter which likes all sorts of sugar and is known for causing diarrhea. Guest guest
Inulin is also a soluble fiber so it increases fecal bulking. Like any fiber it does not cause firm stools as such unless it's also correcting diarrhea by virtue of being a prebiotic. If your loose stool is caused by citrobacter eating the 10% sugar, after awhile it will go away as bifidobacteria and to a lesser extent lactobacilli catch up.
