Hello,

How strict are you all with the diet. Cutting out sugar is one thing, but do

you also refrain from eating cheese , white flour, etc.?

How do others react to your changed eating habits? I find it pretty

difficult, because in the canteen I can hardly eat anything especially

because I am a vegetarian and furthermore I think as Candida is still pretty

unknown people do not take it seriously when I tell them about it.

This liver flush does that consist of doing an extra diet, I hope not and

how long do you follow it?

Thanks, Margarete

Hi Margrete:

Our SAD (Standard American Diet) has too much of this stuff - a

little once in a while shouldn't hurt, only you can listen to your

body and determine what the reaction is when you eat certain things.

How strict you need to be will be based on how ill you feel and what

course of healing plan you wish to take.

It makes it difficult when you can't prepare your own food, sounds to

me like you might be a student or service person? from the way you

described the canteen and others observing or commenting what you

eat...you are right, most people are clueless when it comes to even

knowing what candida is...

If you have a lot of questions about your food choices, tell them you

have developed a sensitivity, but don't let that get you stressed

out, stress is a factor in managing this imbalance. If you can

tolerate say pasta occasionally or soft cheese occasionally at this

point, go enjoy! But remember they are acid forming foods and that

acidity can aggravate as well.

There is no special diet in order to do liver flushes/cleanes. You

do them until you have no more stones - for some people 6-8 for some

maybe more...It could take a while for your body to completely

reverse the conditions that lead up to the overgrowth...the body

heals backwards in time, so if the candida symptoms were the most

recent to show, they'll be first to go.

Margarete,

Welcome to the group. If you want to find the details on my diet, please search archives for Diet . On cheeses, I only eat cottage cheese. The others all seem to contain molds. I haven't been eating any flour, but I just found out I'm no longer allergic to white flour, so I may have a little bread on special occasions only. My husband is marvelously supportive, though I catch him "forgetting" every now and then when he cooks. Others have a hard time understanding. I would think it would be very hard to be a vegetarian on this kind of diet. I hope you are not a strict vegetarian.

All the best,
