Guest guest
I did a lot of searches on Threelac, and sorry to say that I never saw anything like your mom's reaction. I know for some no probiotics seem to work, but nothing like what you are going through. Are you guys sure it seems solely linked to Threelac and no other supplemental changes? I assume she is no longer taking it, how long in total did she take it? Maybe it was a bad batch or something? Just a side note, but if your mom has always had a hard time gaining weight and if she has a notable problem with gluten (wheat types), one easy test is for celiac. It is a type of leaky gut condition that they can actually test for and the medical profession now " believes " in. Only catch is that to have the test, which is via blood, you have to had been eating wheat/gluten. Probably not related, but just thought I'd through it out there. Take care, Kari my mom is suffering from Candida, I need help, badly! Hello everyone, I'm new to the group and extremely desperate. My mom has had Candida for 15 years now. She's done the " Candida diet " and she literally went down to 87lbs. She went off of it for a few months, and then went back on it. She was fine though, even after she went off the diet, she just didn't want to keep losing weight. The point is: Last thursday she tried something that my brother urged her to take, she got it offline. It's called " threelac. " Since then, she literally cannot keep ANYTHING down. This has been going on for 6 days. I really don't know what to do, and I'm not getting any answers any place else. That's why I'm here. I need advice as to what can help her from vomiting everything up? I've tried peppermint tea, it didn't work. She already takes Nystatin, but that hasn't helped either. I have searched high and low for people that have taken " Threelac " and had this type of reaction, but I can't find anyone. I don't understand why something that's supposed to help her is causing this reaction. Can anyone PLEASE HELP? Before you say that she needs to see a doctor, or go to the hospital; I've already told her that. She refuses to go, and my dad won't even take her either. Guest guest
Hi there Did your mom stop nystatin while she took Threelac? To take the two together was perhaps to much for her system to cope with. I have taken Threelac and I went through die off symptoms. I lost a lot of weight while going through the healing process. Ginger helps with nausea or sickness. chew a small piece of the root, this should help. Drink lots of warm water to help flush out the toxins. Body brush this again will help remove toxins through the lymphatic system. It really sounds to me that your mom has overloaded the system and her liver is under stress, trying to get the toxins out of her body. Wishing your Mom a speedy recovery Take care and don't get stressed. --- alexeiweb <alexeiweb@...> wrote: --------------------------------- Hello everyone, I'm new to the group and extremely desperate. Guest guest
Here's information from a site on how to stop vomiting. First, have your mom STOP ALL SOLID FOODS. The solid food triggers the vomiting reflex when it hits the stomach. The stomach has to calm down, rest and recover. The " ThreeLac " was like a poison to your mom's stomach and now the stomach is throwing out everything swallowed. She could take small amounts of soup broth to start. If you have a health foods store near you, they now sell vegetable broths and chicken broths that have minerals in them. Or you could make a vegetable soup and strain the broth for your mom. I would also get the rehydration products mentioned below that are for children. Since your mom is so thin, she is too fragile to let the vomiting continue without rehydrating her body. If she throws up even liquids, have her stop those for 8 to 12 hours till the stomach is relaxed. Then, try one small swallow of broth. Wait 15 minutes or so and try another. But stop solid foods for the first 24 hours. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/articles/6029-6.asp The mainstay of home treatment is to drink fluids. Fluid intake helps correct electrolyte imbalance, which may stop vomiting. Fluids are vital to prevent dehydratration. * Start with small amounts. Only use clear liquids such as clear soup broth. * Ginger may be used to control nausea and vomiting. Studies have shown it to be effective. Ginger comes in gelatin capsules containing 500 mg of powdered herb. You may also brew ginger tea from tea bags. {Or, you can buy ginger root, slice it and boil the slices water.) * Avoid milk and any dairy products. They can make your nausea and vomiting worse. * Work your way up to soft foods, pureed vegetables, oatmeal, yogurt, and similar soft foods and go back to liquids if the nausea and vomiting return. Dehydration: Children should be given oral rehydration solutions such as Pedialyte, Rehydrate, Resol, and Rice-Lyte. * Cola, tea, fruit juice, and sports drinks will NOT correctly replace fluid or electrolytes lost from vomiting. Nor will plain water. In addition, plain water may dilute electrolytes to the point of seizures. * The World Health Organization has established a recipe for fluid rehydration: Mix 2 Tbs of honey (or maple syrup)with ¼ tsp of salt & ¼ tsp of baking soda. Mix in 1 qt of water. Dehydration in adults: Although adults & adolescents have a larger electrolyte reserve than children, electrolyte imbalance & dehydration may still occur as fluid is lost through vomiting. Severe symptoms & dehydration usually develop as complications of medication use or chronic diseases such as diabetes or kidney failure. But symptoms may occur in healthy people. * After 24 hours of fluid diet without vomiting, begin a soft-bland solid diet such as the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce without sugar, toast, pasta, and potatoes. ------------ Hope this helps, Sandy " alexeiweb " <alexeiweb@y...> wrote: > I'm new to the group and extremely desperate. Guest guest
Thank you for all of the advice. When this reaction first started, she was making herself juices to see if they would help. They didn't. I really don't know how much she weighs now. She was having trouble putting weight on when she was on the Candida diet a few years ago. So that's when she went off of it for a while, and started gaining weight again. I think she was taking the Nystatin at the same time as the " threelac. " I didn't know that it could have a reaction. All I know is the day that she started the " threelac " she started getting really sick again. Someone already said not to worry. Well, it's too late for that already. I haven't gotten much sleep, last night I got none. Plus, I'm suffering with allergies too, so I'm pretty drained right now. > > Hi > Also look into juicing foods for your mom.Get a good juicing book to help. > Kathy > >
