We will soon begin a system to help us with the yeast. What we wanted

to find out from some of you, what are somne suggestions with foods.

We viewed the Do's and Don'ts and it seems to us that this is much

like a vegan diet minus the sugars.

Hi Renata,

Welcome. From what I understand, the vegan diet contains an awful lot of

grains, fruit, etc. It may not be the best for everyone. I know there are

folks here who eat some grains, etc. and have no problem. On the other hand,

I've found that, for me, a low-carb diet is the only thing to keep me

feeling good -- no grains, more or less just meat, veggies, and some dairy

work for me. I am of the firm belief that not every diet works for every

person. That said, in general all you need to keep in mind is that carbs

tend to feed the candida so you need to experiment with what works for you.

Hope this helps. :o)

Africa, can I quote you? This is a most *excellent* (insert Bill and Ted riff

here, LOL) overview of what it takes to do the protocol. I'd love to put your

post up (without your email, if you like) on hCGloss to show folks how well it

can work......let me know.

loose the weight so quickly - but in all honesty, 40 days (plus the following 3

I felt like giving up, especially watching other people eat yummy foods. I told

myself " just one more day. finish the day without cheating and we'll see how

tomorrow goes. " I can't tell you how many " one more days " I've had - I'm on day

36 and haven't cheated once. Another thing I did was print out a calendar. At

the end of every day, I draw a big black X through the day. If I cheat, I can't

draw the X. It may sound silly, but sometimes knowing that I won't be able to

cross off the day if I cheat is what get's me through it. When you're having a

tough time, it's great to look back and see how long you've kept it up without

cheating.

you're sitting in front of the TV. You start to understand that food is just

food - not comfort, support, or love.

with kids, but help them understand why there won't be cookies and ice cream for

a while - it won't kill them. Also, they'll get to discover some really

incredible sweets - things that you can eat: like fresh strawberries and warm

cinnamon apples. (Slice up an apple, sprinkle it with cinnamon and stevia, and

microwave for 2 minutes. Seriously as good as apple pie!). Don't go to

restaurants. Don't go grocery shopping in the morning when the bakery is

smelling like doughnuts and sweet bread (in general, I only go shopping right

after my meals when I " m full - makes a huge difference). Try your best to avoid

coming into contact with foods you can't eat - keep the kids' cereal in a

> Don't expect to loose a pound a day, or even half a pound a day, every day.

Don't expect to immediately see the scale change or inches to melt away. Often

times people go through frequent stalls of a couple days or even a few weeks

where the scale doesn't show any change. It's incredibly frustrating, but hang

in there and the weight does come off eventually. When you get discouraged, take

your total weight loss and divide it by the number of days you've been on the

diet. It's a nice little reminder that you are loosing weight!

>

> Take every bit of encouragement and hang on to it. When you notice that your

sweatpants or jeans are a little loose - celebrate! When you notice a difference

in how your stomach looks - celebrate! the first visible thing I noticed about

my body was that my calves looked slimmer. When I felt disouraged, I'd think

about my calves. At the same time, try your best to ignore all the

discouragement - like not being able to eat things or when the scale doesn't

move or when you feel like the weight will just never come off. The key is to

stay positive.

>

> Foods: stick to the protocol in Pounds and Inches and write everything down.

It seems like everyone has different little quirks about foods that don't work

for them - sometimes its grapefruit, beef, tomatoes, onions...it really varies.

If you write down everything you eat each day, you can go back and look for

patterns to figure out what doesn't work for you. I know it's tempting to hunt

down 0 calorie foods or drinks - but it's a waste of your time and a waste of

your HCG. No diet soda, no sugarless gum, nothing that's not on the protocol.

Change up what you're eating - there are a lot of options for protein. Sample

them all and try a bunch of different spices.

>

> It does get easier! At first, you treasure every single bit of food.

Eventually, you stop obsessing over it. You come to really love the fruit you

can eat and you're satisfied with the meals. The cravings are greatly reduced.

It really does become almost easy to get through a day without wanting to cheat.

Better yet, it shows you that you do in fact have control over food. You feel

empowered.

Hi ,

My first recommendation is to thouroughly read Pounds and Inches (can be read online) by Dr. Simeons. Don't deviate from the foods he lists to eat!

The first week is the hardest. I had a lot of trouble with lightheadedness until I figured out that I needed to space my fruit out over the day so that I had a more consistent level of sugar in my bloodstream.

How to stay full: the first week is the most difficult, but after that, if your dose is correct, you really won't feel hungry except right before your meals. I drink lots of tea and I think that has really helped. When I'm feeling hungry, I drink a cup of tea. When I'm craving something sweet, I drink a sweet, fruity cup of tea. Yogi Healthy Fasting brand tea was also really helpful on those days I felt like I didn't have energy.

Withdrawal: this is tough. people say that this is an easy diet because you loose the weight so quickly - but in all honesty, 40 days (plus the following 3 weeks) without your favorite foods is really, really hard. There were many days I felt like giving up, especially watching other people eat yummy foods. I told myself "just one more day. finish the day without cheating and we'll see how tomorrow goes." I can't tell you how many "one more days" I've had - I'm on day 36 and haven't cheated once. Another thing I did was print out a calendar. It may sound silly, but sometimes knowing that I won't be able to cross off the day if I cheat is what get's me through it. When you're having a tough time, it's great to look back and see how long you've kept it up without cheating.

I think you learn a lot about yourself and food on this diet. You realize how much you used to over-eat, eat when bored, and eat to feel better. But you also start to realize that you don't have to eat a brownie or a box of doughnuts to feel better. You realize that you don't have to munch on something just because you're sitting in front of the TV. You start to understand that food is just food - not comfort, support, or love.

Do everything you can to ensure you won't fail. Don't start this diet until you've made the committment to yourself that you wont cheat. Take precautions to make this diet easier - clear out all the treats from the house. It'll be tough with kids, but help them understand why there won't be cookies and ice cream for a while - it won't kill them.
