Guest guest
My pain management doctor put me on Lyrica one month ago. It has helped with the burning pain and it may just be in my head but I feel better all the way around. It took a few weeks to get over being tired all the time but I had that with the Neurontin also. It has also increased my appetite. For me that's not a bad thing. Joyce E [ ] Re: Kathy & Ken- Digest Number 380 Short answer first.Ken, every doctor is different as we all know. They'd all like the patient to not be smoking but as to how long or if they have to be totally smoke free your aunt should talk to her doctor.Kathy,I've been on Lyrica for a couple of weeks & it has helped greatly with the burning pain of my anterior incision. Also with the posterior but that one wasn't the one keeping me awake at night. Since I've been on it I've slept thru the night most night.Several years ago I was on Neurontin for several months for the burning pain on my hip from the donor site (30+ years after the surgery). It took it away but I didn't like the spacey feeling it gave me & with the responsibility of delivering babies I didn't feel comfortable on it. So I weaned myself off.Last year the doctor tried me on Cymbalta for the nerve pain I was having in my leg. But it hyped me up & I wasn't sleeping no matter when I took it.We have to all remember we're all individuals & each unique-many of us more unique then others!Joyce T, RN Atlanta
