Guest guest Posted August 22, 2001 Report Posted August 22, 2001 Which B vitamins did you take? They fractionate their B's into a B Complex and a " G " Complex. Those taking them need to take both to get the whole complex or know why they are taking them (what therapeutic effect they are after) or you could get the wrong effect. jp Standard process Their B vitamines used to be all food based but are no longer. I have tried them and they make me shake. Don't know why. Guest guest Posted August 22, 2001 Report Posted August 22, 2001 Hi Dr. , It has been over a years since I last tried them. I don't remember the name. I just took a tiney bite to muscle test, once again. And within seconds I was visibly shaking, much to the amazement of the tester. I didn't swallow it, but kept it under the tongue long enought to be tested. I felt weak and weird for about a half hour, even though I rinsed my mouth out well. Says alot for the absorption of their products. What it says about my body, I have no idea. Smile. Donna Cataplex B???? Guest guest Posted August 22, 2001 Report Posted August 22, 2001 Donna, Your reaction to the Cataplex B more than likely had to do with an allergy/sensitivity to one of the food ingredients in the product. I love these products and truly believe in their efficacy, but I'm now taking a second look as I ponder the validity of the Blood Type diets. If I were to seriously " eat right for my type " I'd have to forgo half of SP's line because of the wheat germ that is in them! Would anyone have any knowledgeable comments on the blood type diet? I've seen both sides of the controversy and the naysayers have not put up a convincing enough argument. I'd sure like to see one, because all my favorite foods are " avoids " !! I'd sure like to see one, because all > my favorite foods are " avoids " !! The story in a nutshell is that while the blood type diet works fairly well for some people, there are in fact many factors in the blood that cause people to react well or badly to foods. The man who wrote this book based his theory on only ONE aspect. However, his diet does help many people to varying degrees simply because junk, fake food, and refined carbohydrates (and in some cases dairy) are forbidden. However, if his diet worked PERFECTLY, people wouldn't be dissatisfied with the results. And people are. Obviously, something is missing here. You can learn more about this by writing the Price-Pottenger Foundation and asking for their newsletter that specifically describes in detail the scientific literature on which the blood type diet author based his book. This will shed great light on a very complex subject made simplistic, to the detriment of us all. I also highly recommend becoming a member either of the Price-Pottenger Foundation, or its spinoff group, the Weston Price Foundation. I promise you that over half the questions that I've seen asked in this group (the ones that don't pertain to oxygen therapies) would not be asked if people availed themselves of these incredible resources. The media trains us to look for answers in small, simplistic " sound bites " --although, as is always the case with complex living organisms, the answer to " what should I eat? " isn't simple. However, the popular book market makes it sound as though it is. As a health professional, I receive literature from Standard Process that isn't available to the general public. Just this month a lengthy article dealt with this very topic, " What is the best diet for me? " Again, the notion that there is a simple answer to dietary needs is debunked. Believe it or not, when you factor in all the different criteria for cataloging people--such as catabolic or anabolic metabolism, sympathetic or parasympathetic dominance, glandular type, blood type, etc. etc. etc., there can be well over a few THOUSAND types! This is why assigning dietary systems isn't easy. If various diet systems--which include Macrobiotics, raw foods, vegan, vegetarianism, Pritikin, Aryuvedic, Atkins, etc.--were complete unto themselves, people would find the food plan that works for them and stick to it, and there wouldn't be so many failures. But there are failures, because each person is unique, and the truth is much more complex than our sound bite media mentality (and popular book market) would have us believe. In my upcoming HANDBOOK OF RIFE FREQUENCY HEALING, I discuss diet in detail, in the chapter on how to support and strengthen your system (which includes many modalities such as oxygen therapies, sauna therapy, light, water and minerals, supplements, and herbs). This chapter is well over 50 pages long. I have distilled highlights from the best information and put it into a highly readable form. My book is about a great deal more than Rife frequency technology. If list members would like to know how to plough through the overwhelming amount of information available to us, I strongly suggest you get my book. I don't think you'll be disappointed. At the very least, join either of the two Foundations mentioned above. Even though the memberships are a bit pricey (around $35), it may be some of the best money you've ever spent. Guest guest Posted August 22, 2001 Report Posted August 22, 2001 Dear Sharon, Consider this: There are six billion people alive presently on planet earth. No two have the same DNA. Each is unique. How can four blood type groups cover all six billion possibilities? This is simplistic nonsense. I have talked to far more people who had poor results with this approach than I have people who were transformed. And I talk to a LOT of people. Generally, the best advice for a person is : if you are having a health problem, change your diet radically and see if you get good results, after a fair trial. Listen to your own body. That is the only one of the six billion that counts. Best of Health! I really have reaped a lot of health benefits from this Blood Type Diet. When I eat avoids I feel it! My guess is you are a O and can't have the high carb diet. Guest guest Posted August 23, 2001 Report Posted August 23, 2001 I'm taking a cheap version of Tri Vita, called boost and I seem to do okay on it. I have tried unsuccessfully for years to take B vitamins until I found the boost. I bought them for my son who was told my a doctor to take folic, so this had good folic levels plus b12 and some other minor B's. I would have too look at it to know all of it. Decided to be mature and look it up. It has b2 at 1.7 mg/ Niacin at 20 mgs/ b6 2 mgs (pyridoxine hci) Folic 200 mcg B12 as cyanocobalamin 1000mcg and pantothentic acid 30 mgs. It comes in two 1fl oz bottles. It is cheap $8.00 for both. Anyway, when ever I find a new B vitamin I try it, just it case it might be THE ONE that doesn't make me feel tired or shakey. So I got these for my son who is 32 and before sending them off to him I opened one to try it and was completely amazed that I felt a little energy boost from it and no negative effects. Probably because it is all low dose and I just took a tiny amount. So, someone else might find it to be unimpressive, but for me it is the only thing, so far, that I have had success with. Anyway, it is called Boost and is made by HealthCo. International in Bloomington Il 60108 For other vitamins I do juice plus, which is multilevel and more expensive than I would like, but it is just fruits and veges juiced, dried, powdered and capped. I do good on that. I have tried to find inexpensive knock offs but I never have felt good on any of them, so I go back to the Juice Plus. When I can get my trip together I am going to try amla powder, because I feel like I need more C, even tho I do lots of live stuff, I seem to need more. In the past I have done pollen and royal jelly and chlrella and barley juice and things like that to get some extra naturally occurring vitamins. I find I do best on the real thing. That is why standard process vitamins appealed to me so much, because they are food based. Well they used to be until just recently, and unfortunately I don't do well onthem right now. Maybe later. And that's all I know. Donna p.s. on the making me shake thing. That is the opposite of what most people notice on B vits. They are ususally calming. And in no way do I think that it is a bad product just because I had a weird response to it. I think their stuff is awesome. (Standard Process, that is) -----Original Message---- Make you shake? Guest guest Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Yes, I use them. You can buy the on-line from Organic Madness. You just need to fill out a health survey first. They also sell MediHerb supplements. I have also gotten some from Greg Steiner, a ND in Roseville, but he doesn't carry a full line. Guest guest Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 I've used and sold (for animals) the SP line for over 20 years. I love the line and strongly recommend them. SP is primarily sold by holstic practioners, particularly chiropractors. I'd also recommend that you team up with someone well-versed in their use and in reading your needs. Anything with hormonal activity has potential for throwing off the checks-and- balances in the body. There is an endlessly L-O-N-G and passionate discussion on-going on the WAPF chapter leaders discussion group right now about the use of glandulars. Most of it concerns THYROID correction, but it also gets into HRT, ADRENAL and others. It's amazing but far too complicated and spacy to try to condense here. I will try to bring the best of it to our files once the dust settles though. There was a 500+ message barrage about CLO choices, at least that many on the thyroid and other glandular topics swirling around as well. It's a talky group and takes a lot of time every day.
