Guest guest Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Hola, Nutty! Thank you so much. I really needed to hear that. I do feel like I have to fit for my right to PARTY, and to have as full and normal a life as I can. I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets the " you're too young to be disabled/need a cane look. " I wish using a cane proved to co-workers, etc., what I've been saying all along - " I'm in constant pain that I choose to ignore most of the time " and no I don't want to talk about it with you or find out about your relative who cured her back pain or your miracle cure you read about on the internet. I'm glad you are using a wheelchair if you need it! Listen to me, encouraging others to get the help they need, but so hard to do it myself. <sigh> I did order a nice cane though, so it will feel more like an accessory. <smile> Deb > > Hola Deb > > Sorry for the late reply to your post about canes but I have been away in > the UK, I drafted the email while I was away but wasn't able to send it in > to you. > > I know how you feel hun, I am 29 and I too gave in last week and bought > myself a walking stick, I am on holiday at the moment in the UK and had to > resort to a wheelchair for the time here because of late I have been in > immense pain and not been able to walk anywhere, I just cannot support > myself right now. > > I have been shocked at the reactions I have been getting from people as they > walk by my, can't help but stare at me..............must be jealous!
