im sorry you havent gotten a response yet and are unhappy :( This really

is a great list for info and support, but theres alot of people here and

sometimes when no one knows what to respond with, it just gets looked over. We

do care though, and dont want to just ignore you. I saw your original post, but

didnt see your follow up post until you replied with this. I dont know anything

about the cervical area........i joined the list for support through my husbands

issues with L5 S1 in his lower back.... I did look around for some cervical

myelopathy info for you, and found some information you might find helpful, i

hope i helped atleast in a small way, and i hope you can find some answers and a

better way to relief from your symptoms and problems. My heart goes out to you

and all of you here that deal with this on a daily basis with no answers. Just

watching my husband in so much pain for 5 weeks broke my heart, and made me feel

so incredibly helpless. Big comforting hugs to you all!

here is the info for you:

Cervical stenosis with myelopathy

http://www.spine-health.com/topics/cd/overview/cervical/cerv03.html

s Hopkins Transverse Myelitis Center http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/jhtmc/

If you dont find what your looking for there, here is a google search i ran that

has several links that explain the condition and treatment...you may better find

something your looking there

A little bit of patience and compassion for your fellow sufferers please. This

list is really good about responding, but you have to cut them some slack. Most

are dealing with the cold weather aches & pains as well as the holidays

approaching, and their own health problems. Some times it may take a few days or

even a friendly reminder that you are still out there.

My problem is with my lumbar back and I have had surgery for it. I recently

started having cervical problems but do not know a lot about that yet. I am also

having some heart problems and took a back seat on all my lists and social

activities...dealing with the fear, depression, tests, and doctors.

Sorry I gave you nothing...but this group is really awesome when you give them a

chance.

I guess theres alot of reasons why people don't answer medical questions

or exact definitions. For one it is illegal to give medical advice unless you

are licensed to do so, and have actually examined the patient. This group is

basically for support. And we try to support eachother alot. I did look up

myelopathy, but there were so many descriptions for different areas, that it is

best to ask your physician for the exact answers you are looking for. And if he

doesn't phrase it in laymans terms, ask him too. Don't leave " uneducated " ...ask

in another way, or say... " ok...now what does that mean...exactly " . If you look

at the spine health website, there is alot of good info there. Or simply do a

search in google, under cervical myelopathy. You may just find what you are

looking for in websites that have been made by actual neuro physicians. I was

curious though, as in your first request, you didn't mention where it was,

thereby noone would be able to answer their experiences with it, so I suggested

you go further in telling us where and what surgery you had, hoping someone here

had similar diagnosis' or same situations. I do hope with everyone elses

replies to some good websites, you took some time to look them over. Good luck

to you, I know it is so frustrating wanting a pinpointed answer, and a

pinpointed cure. I, as well as you, wish I had the answers, then I would not be

here looking at everyone elses responses, and I'd be free from pain as well.

But until that day comes, where theres a magic fix, we just support eachother as

best we can. I'm sorry you looked to me for an answer. I did not intend to be

the one answering, but only asked you to go further in explaining your

situation.

Hugs
