I too am on Levoxyl for Hashimotos. Have been on meds for a year

and have had some ups and downs. The hair is a reaction of your

adrenals to the new medication. Your body has been stressed because

of the lack of thyroid and now that it has it, it is stressing the

adrenals. It should get better but may take a while depending on

how long you were hypo.

An over the counter adrenal support is the hydrocortisone creme for

itchy skin and such. Use a very small amount to begin and maybe

every other day and you will see a big difference. I feel much

better with a little bit but too much will cause my eyes to swell.

I think because you can use more thyroid with it, the thyroid being

easier to absorb.

I did not even have hair on my arms while I was hypo and also did

not sweat during hot flashes. It takes a long time to recover from

being hypo. For those of you still fighting the " normal " with test

results, keep insisting on the antibodies test. I was hypo from

autoimmune Hashi's probably all my life. Joan

Do I use the hydrocortisone cream on my face or it doesn't matter

which part of my body I use it on? How small of an amount do I use,

like dime size? This is all new to me, so sorry for the dumb

questions! Thanks for the info.

Also OTC progesterone cream would help, a cortisol precurser.

I have used progesterone creme for the last 5 years. It has not

diminished the hair on my face one bit.

I am using a spot of cortisone about half the size of the tip of a

Qtip when I use it. I have a horrid cold or allergy right now that

is not responding to cold preps or antihistimines. Don't know if

the reduction in hormones has made me more susceptible or not. I

had used soy for estrogen for 5 years also and was not sick during

that time but the soy did an additional number on my throid

conversions. I quit the soy this summer. I may need more T4. I'm

still on a very small dose but don't want to go hyper again. Joan
