Prior to the colonoscopy you are given a harsh laxative which clears out all the new fecal matter. Mucus is produced in the body to assist in the evacuation of poisons. A pink mucus lining is produced every day in the colon to assist in the removal of fecal matter and anything else the body needs to expel (undigested food, poisons in the food, other poisons etc.). The body is naturally reacting to what is being put into it. This harkens back to the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyle and the consequences of not living so. Why are we told to eat lots of fiber? The fiber will help peristaltic action as well as act like a brush to remove the mucus from the intestine walls and to help in the evacuation of unused foods. The mucus lining is something the body naturally creates to help elimination, so if we do not have enough fiber in our diet to scratch all this lining off, there has to be a build up, slowly but surely. The new mucus is produced daily, thus the colon when seen in the colonscopy looks pink and healthy, the unhealthy buildup is underneath the new pink layer. What you are looking at is the condition of the inner lining of the bowel, not it's overall health. Whether the Dr. recognizes the true health of the bowel is a function of his training and knowledge. If his training is based in science and scientific tests he may be unaware of the true reality. Some Drs. are aware of this problem but for various reasons it is not being addressed. One reason is a lack of training in the field of cleansing. How can this be proven? In autopsies and the results of cleansing programs. What has your cleansing experience revealed? Ask a colon therapist if he/she has seen a nice pink colon in a colonscopy and then what actually came out of the person during the cleansing program. Wayne died of bowel cancer, his lower bowel weighed over 40 lbs. The normal healthy lower bowel weighs only 5 lbs. Where was the extra weight? It was the mucus buildup that was going on slowly but surely over a lifetime. Food for thought. Bob
