Guest guest
The more you use this other foods, the more you will get used to it and the better you will feel. I had Klamatha olives today. I have always hated them, but over the course of 4-6 months I tried 1-2 ,grimacing as I ate them. I haven't tried in a montha and today at lunch ,I enjoyed them, I thought the saltness and the vinegariness tasted fine! I have hated vinegar since childhood. I know it is becuase I am slowly detoxing and my organs are getting healthy. C [ ] just wa wanted to let you know Hi, It is pj and I wanted to let you know I have been around and have benifitted from your info. However with a baby I don't have much time for the computer. Guest guest
hi cindy and all~ its true, it might take some getting used to, but the candida diet is full of wonderful -delicious -satisfying foods! however - kalamata olives (or any vinegary olives) are not recommended on the candida diet. some people may be able to tolerate them, especially as they get healthier, like cindy (congrats on the great progress!). but for a truly candida-diet-friendly meal, especially in the beginning phases, the only olives to consume are oil cured olives. they have only olive oil & salt added, and they look like little prunes! sometimes they are labeled greek olives, you'll know them by their look, they are packaged in glass jars. they're a very concentrated food, very strong in flavor, but delicious!! happy healing ~ suz > The more you use this other foods, the more you will get used to it and the better you will feel. Guest guest
I guess I owe this group an apoligy for not staying in the guidelines of recommended foods. I wasn't recommending eating olives. My point is that the more my body clenses it self of Candida, my tastes have changes to accomendate eating foods that are less sweet, more sour, astringent and bitter. I only wanted and indulged in the salt and sweet taste. Continuing eating small amounts of sour, astringent and bitter tasting foods is healing. I wonder if anyone who has developed candida diets has gone back and considered naturally fermented and natural lacto-fermented foods when making their recommendations. In my personal experience it is what is healing me faster than any supplements .I personally adhere to the WAPF diet, Sincerely C [ ] Re: just wa wanted to let you know hi cindy and all~ its true, it might take some getting used to, but the candida diet is full of wonderful -delicious -satisfying foods! however - kalamata olives (or any vinegary olives) are not recommended on the candida diet. some people may be able to tolerate them, especially as they get healthier, like cindy (congrats on the great progress!). but for a truly candida-diet-friendly meal, especially in the beginning phases, the only olives to consume are oil cured olives. they have only olive oil & salt added, and they look like little prunes! sometimes they are labeled greek olives, you'll know them by their look, they are packaged in glass jars. they're a very concentrated food, very strong in flavor, but delicious!! happy healing ~ suz > The more you use this other foods, the more you will get used to it and the better you will feel. " i definitely agree with you about the naturally fermented / lacto fermented foods. they have become an integral part of my diet, and were very helpful and invigorating when i was on the strict candida protocol. now i always have my crock of cabbage on the kitchen counter! and more in the fridge ready to eat! have you noticed in the files section, bee's recipe for making lacto femented cabbage rejuvelac? i know that in the body ecology diet (b.e.d.) system, developed by donna gates, which is designed to help people overcome candida, lacto fermented vegetables and raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar are a mainstay in the daily diet. her explanation is that " [they] allow the lacto-bacilli that fight yeast and other unhealthy flora to proliferate... these cultured foods will be an important factor in recolonising your inner ecological world. " there are parts of the b.e.d. diet with which i don't agree, but she definitely knows her lacto-ferments! i am a recent student of WAPF (since early may), and i have found it to be very very good for me. glad you're here cindy! ~ suz
Guest guest
Hi Viva, Welcome to our group. I'm glad Suz gave you such a good welcome earlier. As Suz said we have a lot of files and recipes posted (left side- bar). But also there are a number of Links posted too. Check out www.mercola.com for more specific information on asthma. I don't agree with everything Dr. Mercola writes but overall his information is good. Use search to get more specific articles on any subject. The best website for information on healthy food is www.westonaprice.org. These foods are also in the candida diet I recommend, i.e. " good " animal meats & fats (butter, coconut oil, etc.). I believe there are natural cures of asthma, and you will be well on your way with the candida diet. Saturated fats are very important for the lungs - I believe there is an article about this in the Links. If not, I can certainly post it. The best to you in your quest for total health. Please keep us posted on how your are doing. Cheers, Bee
