Or have you had that all along and still haven't gotten rid of it from before starting the Armour? Does your whole food vitamin contain powdered goitrogens? (Powdered broccoli, beet greens, kale, etc., or soy.) Or does it contain calcium or iron that you might be taking too soon after you take your thyroid medicine? Do you refrigerate your medicine to preserve maximum potency? Any of these things could affect whether you are getting th emost out of your medicine. Still, it sounds like either you are not on the right medicine for you or you aren't on enough medicine to make the brain fog go away. It's damned frustrating, for sure to figure out just what it is! If it was me, I'd experiment on myself and increase my medicine a little at a time to see if it helped me feel better. But that's just me. I'd call for a refill and then if it helped I'd go see my doc a little earlier than usual and tell him/her I found that more medicine helped. My present doc would go with it, I know, but again, he's come to trust me that I can tell what my body needs, and a little bit of conservative experimentation helps me find what works. On the depression, fish oil caps have proven to be an effective anti-depressant. Here's a rather longish but interesting article summing up recent interest in using fish oil to assist folks maintain better mental health. <A HREF= " http://bipolar.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mhso\ urce.com%2Fpt%2Fp981222.html " > http://bipolar.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mhsource ..com%2Fpt%2Fp981222.html</A> I hope you will be able to track down some things that will help you feel better,
Guest guest
IMHO you must get more thyroid medicine. There is no substitute. Gracia > > Hi everyone, > Well, I was doing fairly well and things took a turn for the worse. I'm taking 60mg of Armour and also trying to exercise, although I only seem to make it to the gym twice a week. I've also been taking Juice Plus, which is a whole foods vitamin. I've got a great new boyfriend, a great new job and everything is going well for me so I should be happy, right? I really feel like crap, I'm tired all the time. I can't remember anything and I'm starting to feel like a real idiot. I'm afraid to start my new job in a week because they might find out how stupid I am. I've never had these feelings of inferiority and fear before but they are overpowering everything I do. I know none of you know what I used to be like but I was confident, smart, and very sociable. Now I try to avoid contact with people because I'm afraid I will get nervous and make a fool out of myself. I'm also experiencing terrible mood swings. Someone suggested I try progesterone creme or taking a higher dose of Armour. I can't really afford to go to the doctor right now so I'm just looking for suggestions from anyone that has experienced this before. I'm only 29yo and I can't imagine living the rest of my life feeling like this. Thanks for listening, please write back(: > > annah1149@... wrote:In a message dated 12/9/2002 12:52:25 PM Pacific Standard Time, > dezign4you@... writes: > > > > One problem I have been experiencing is irregular menstrual cycles and PMS > > symptoms like bloating, breast tenderness and irritability are more severe > > and lasting for well over a week. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for writing back. I take my Armour in the morning and then in the afternoon I take my vitamin and again in the evening which does contain goitrogens but it actually makes me feel better after I take it. Maybe I will try upping my dosage and see what happens. Have you heard anything about DHEA? Thanks again for your support(: annah1149@... wrote:In a message dated 12/22/2002 9:00:46 PM Pacific Standard Time, dezign4you@... writes: > Well, I was doing fairly well and things took a turn for the worse. Guest guest
-I have had thyroid probs for well over a year now. I went on meds which did help alot, but I still was not my normal old self. I had major brain fog and was constantly anxious among other things like fatigue. The two things I did was I started taking omega 3 through fish oil, and I cut back/out almost all sugars and stimulants from my diet. I don't know what happened, but I feel NORMAL! My thyroid is functioning better, my doctor is interested in lowering my meds to see how that goes. I got my diet and supplement info from Dr. Mercola. His website is mercola.com Hope this helps! -- In hypothyroidism , Nunnally <dezign4you@y...> wrote: > > Hi everyone, > Well, I was doing fairly well and things took a turn for the worse. Guest guest
, What you've described happening to you after starting T3 sounds similar to what I experienced with T3. Have you had your free T3 levels tested? It sounds like you have too much T3. I have not been able to tolerate taking T3 and my symptoms continued to get worse instead of better even when I lowered the dose. My symptoms were pretty much gone, though, the day after I stopped taking T3. Now, for the muscle cramps . . . Have you tried taking CLA? or calcium? or stretching? How much exercise do you get? Exercise often alleviates these kinds of cramps, but only if you are also stretching, drinking enough water, and getting the right nutrients. I do well with a high calcium intake (as long as I don't take the calcium too close to when I take my levothyroxine). You might need to supplement other electrolytes as well (potassium, magnesium, sodium). Boredom with your job could also be a factor. If you can't change jobs, can you find a way to make your work more interesting? Or maybe find something more interesting to do in leisure time? I'm thankful that both my work and my leisure are interesting and challenging. Of course, it's also important to learn how to relax (as with yoga, meditation, etc.). Life is all about balance. Have you heard of this before, he added 10 mcr of T3, for two weks then move to 20 mcr. This was this Sat, the first thing I noticed I started going to the loo a lot then could not sleep. Sunday yesterday I slept all day, and keep breaking out in sweats, today I feel really depressed and morose and hot one minute and shivers the next, well not bad shivers just down my back. I all feel very itchy on my skin. Very depressed and foggy in my head I have never had this before.. also like somebody has given me a sleeping draft and I have no appetite. just thirsty. > > I am surprised I can tolerate this jump in meds.. I do feel really bad is this normal and will it go away. sometime I wonder if its not the T4 but something else missing but what is it. My heart rate went up in the 90+ Sat but now has settled down. >
Guest guest
Darren, I think that the point of this list is to share what you know with all of us . . . not to try to diagnose someone privately. I don't understand what your objective is. Best wishes, Celeste Darren wrote: > If you would please, write to me on tedstrikeruk@y... and I > will talk to you about what to do.
