Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I had hyperthyroidism for 7 years, trying all sorts of natural healing methods, but finally it got so bad that I couldn't sleep, and an endocrinologist had me take radioactive iodine. Then he observed me for several months before putting me on a low dose of synthroid for several months. I kept getting blood tests. I asked him how long I had to take thyroid - he said the rest of my life. So, I looked for a natural physician, who put me on Armour, with the understanding that I would build my thyroid gland up with glandulars, and hopefully some day it would stand on its own. Well, now, it's 7 years later, but I'm down to 30 mg one day and 60 mg the next day. So, the amount has slowly diminished and I have lots of energy. There is a lot more to my story, like Osteoporosis and high cholesterol, but this is all I have time to relate right now. Guest guest
Hyperthyroidism needs to be treated with cortisol and thyroid meds, not thyroid destruction. Ray Peat PhD says that true hyperthyroidism is extremely rare, all his hyper patients actually needed thyroid meds. It's just another poorly (understatement) treated condition. In your case you need more thyroid meds, but will need to get cortef in order to tolerate thyroid. You can do a search for Jefferies MD who wrote Safe Uses of Cortisol. Too much calcium with not enough magnesium may trigger seizures. Why don't you try some liquid minerals --- about $10.00 a bottle at Sam's Club plus some extra Magnesium and it's vitamin B complex cofactor.
