Guest guest
theyll never learn unless you speak up.. shoulda told him funny most ppl get well on armour nad not synthroid.. guess you should conduct your own studies than someone elses kimc Rheumatologist Appt. > Hi! > I saw my rheumatologist on Friday and she said my bloodwork is perfect and that I have the most blood that I have ever had. She thinks it's the Enbrel doing its job. She said looking at me - you would never know that I have RA and the physical symptoms are gone. > > Unfortunately, she could not help me at all with my thyroid issues. She said she knows very little about thyroid -- she said that a sure way to put her to sleep is to open up a book on the Endocrine system. I told her about Armour and she said she has RA patients that take it and do well. I was explaining about the T4 only meds. and that Armour has T4, T3, T2 & T1..... & when I was leaving the Endo next door to her office was in her waiting area for something and she asked him about Armour ---- he said.... (actually ranted) " so & so in Boston did a study on the stuff - a persons body will convert the synthetic T4 to T3 on it's own, Armour is not needed. Plus, people go on the stuff and get too much T3 and are flying & bouncing off the walls--their heart rates go sky high & then they come in to see me & I can be liable for their cardiac problems " ---Ahem, guess I don't need to call his office to see if he uses Armour? I wanted to ask him --what if people are poor converters....but I didn't bother to argue with him -- Can you believe his response???? Sheesh! > > So, back to the drawing board on finding a Dr. that uses Armour! I'll keep you guys posted! > > Have a good day, > > > >
Guest guest
This is really wacky stuff. " Poor conversion " syndrome probably applies to every hypothyroid except rare souls like Chuck. I am not flying and bouncing off the wall on Armour. Sounds like doc went to $ynthroid University. Gracia Armour is not needed. Perhaps rare on this list, but since Synthroid is far and away the most prescribed medication on the planet, I suspect I am not alone. I do wish they had a better handle on what makes the difference and would not ignore all of you. Chuck
