Guest guest
Thank you Gracia, this was very interesting... I have had soooo much trouble getting any kind of information about Hep C from my current doctors! I have been referred to a major University hospital here in Colorado for treatment... I have been told that no one in my town treats this, so I have to go to the " big city " . I think its a crock. When I contacted the hospital for an appoinment, I was told that I would have to give them a $1,000. deposit first, I would have to fill out a packet for them etc... The packet arrived, it's HUGE! you wouldn't believe the stuff I have to fill out...and there is a form in it for me to sign that makes me part of a national registry....They are making this sound as bad as HIV. You would think, if it was there would be some kind of screening for it somewhere! It would be part of a routine physical or something. But it isnt! it isnt even part of a routine STD panel... I have a real problem with the way this is being handled so far! I am scheduled for a biopsy on June 1. scary stuff. Thanks again for the information... Chriss. Guest guest
Good luck, Chriss my sister is being treated for Hep C, she lives in " Cawlifornia " , I don't have much contact with her b/c she is so troubled. I keep thinking Hep C is related to the adrenal problems we all have. Guest guest
Hi Chriss, the university hospital that you're talking about...is it a hospital where they primarily treat indigent folks and people without medical insurance? It doesn't sound like it to me. Here we have University of Louisville Hospital. If you have no insurance, you go to the financial office and get your account set up...everything is discounted!!! And if it's still too much for you, you can make payments. If you make just a payment of $1 a month, that's okay...just keep paying that. UofL hospital does NOT required downpayments on medical services. Obviously, if you don't have medical insurance and/or have a low income, you simply can't pay this kind of downpayment. Is there another hospital in your area which is similar to UofL Hospital? Are you able to keep your anxiety level down during this interim of waiting to have your biopsy done?
