Guest guest
Gee thanks for all the info from you guys--I didn't want to bring it up since I thought and how could I think such a thing that it didn't have anything to do with our problems--but no I read this in one of my old posts in my email--and then I did that BP test I told you guys about--also there is a eye test as well--it's in the book adrenalfatigue--from Dr. --not of 's disease (another ) http://www.adrenalfatigue.org/ anyway I did try the soy isoflavones before and it didn't seem to do anything--maybe all along it's adrenal??? ( or I took the wrong stuff/bad batch) after all they are the ones with the sex hormones-- so I am on my second day now of my adrenal support and a adrenal glandular and I will take one pill of each a day till next period and see how I do. I had headaches this time too--really bad ones--gee and as soon as the p is over with it starts back up. This is really making me nuts-- So lets see how I do. As for vitmain E I do take a multi and I eat a lot of nuts---haha!!! always watching the carbs--but I do eat fruit just not a lot of them. It really wears you out these hot flashes---mine is like a burning in my face that won't go away--unless I take advil that ususally helps!!! thanks for the suggestions--I always look into them--tina -- In hypothyroidism , " hendersonteacher " <hendersonteacher@y...> wrote: > I too have had and still have an occasional hot flash. I have gotten some bottles that didn't do anything also. Since they aren't controlled well it can happen. I only buy the brand I have been using. As to natural hormone or bioidentical hormone, all that I have checked on use soy as the base. Be aware. > > I had headaches this time too--really bad ones--gee and as soon as > the p is over with it starts back up. This is really making me nuts-- Are the headaches above your eyes or in the lower back of your head? I found the eye headaches to be relieved with soy and the back of the head with progesterone. With progesterone be aware it comes in different strengths also. You need 400 mg per ounce. I saw one at the health store that was 5 mg per ounce. Bet it doesn't do anything! Interesting comment on the Hashi's being connected to estrogen dominance. In 1999, I had several episodes of severe pms, pain and heavy flow. I started progesterone and lost 20 pounds weight without changing the diet. Finally became estrogen deficient(hot flashes) and added the soy. Tooled along with no other major problems for 4 years and then began adding weight again. Guess there was a connection and relief for the adrenals when I added some hormone. The other issue with soy is that the beneficial isoflavones chemically mimic estrogen. That is what makes them effective against the flashes. You are effectively self-prescribing estrogen replacement therapy, with the various disadvantages that implies, particularly increased breast and ovarian cancer risks. You might want to take just enough to adjust the hot flashes to a tolerable level and try to taper off the dosage if they become less severe.
