Guest guest
The same thing happened to me after the birth of my third son. I was 34 at the time. I had never had any anxiety issues previous to this. I was diagnosed with severe depression. (postpartum depression) Later on they tacked on panic disorder etc.... The more $$ drugs they can get you on the better for them! My symptoms were not classic either. This all started after my son was six months old! It started with my inability to sleep. And despite a healthy diet I could not produce enough milk for him... Classic hypothyroid symptoms. I became so bad I had to go to the hospital. The put in the psych unit for observation. Amazingly enough the first test they subjected me to was a TSH test! Then a C A T scan. I don't know what my score was then. They claimed to have " lost " it when it was requested by my attorney. How convenient. Anyway I was not allowed to go home until I agreed to take an antidepressant. And that's when the real nightmare began. It was about three years of drug limbo and counseling that I Didn't need. By then I was severely dependent on a sleep medication. And I no longer wanted to live like that. I flushed it all! and started over. I luckily found a doctor who was willing to listen to me. After my diagnosis I was put on Armour. I felt better by the third day and have continued to progress. I have not needed a sleep med or an antidepressant since then. I am finally myself again. Make sure that you listen to your body, and only you know the real you.... don't let anyone convince you of something that Doesn't feel right. The psychiatric community especially is very good at that. I wish you all the best!

Guest guest
We are just like you! We have been misdiagnosed and mistreated, and struggled to feel well again. Read some of the past posts.
