Guest guest
Welcome to the world of hypothyroidism. I was diagnosed in Nov. w/hypo and then again in Dec. w/the auto immune form of hypo...Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I am now on synthroid, but there are many kinds of meds out and it may take a while for you and your doctor to figure the dosage. Read, read and read some more. Ask questions. And, the most important point...if your doctor does not listen to you, is not willing to try alternative forms of meds, then move on to someone who will. About.com has a list of docs and patients recommendationsabout them. Search the internet...it is a wonderful tool. Post on this site. I have found the folks here very supportive and willing to answer questions. I, too, put on twenty pounds. I am fighting exhaustion this week and my memory is horrible most of the time. I used to get cold, but I have started menopause and have bad hot flashes now. If you find yourself being too uncomfortable, TELL your doctor you want to be tested now. Become involved in the process. You are the one with the symptoms, you are the one who feels lousy, not the doctor. Keep the faith, and remember this: It's your body. It's your life. Guest guest
Have you already been tested? You said he wanted to check your labs again... What were the numbers the first time? Perhaps he is letting your body recover a bit from the interferon treatment before doing anything else. I know how awful that can be. My brother also had hep c. It took him awhile to stabilize afterword.
