Do not use commercial salt for any reason - it is bleached, doesn't contain natural chloride and sodium, and it has aluminum added to make it free-running, etc., etc. ==>You get plenty of iodine in ocean sea salt and butter for your thyroid. If you take too much it is just as damaging to the thyroid as not getting trace amounts as needed. Bee >
Guest guest
Bee, This comment about sea salt got me thinking, I have been having a terrible time with what I think is my thyroid. I have this tension in the back of my neck, it feels like someone is tightening up a screw back there. Also I am still losing ALOT of hair, so much that it blocks up the drain completely when I shower, and I am crying alot. I don't have much hair left to lose and this is causing me a considerable amount of anxiety. Does this sound like thyroid symptoms or adrenal fatigue? Can you recommend anything to help? I wonder if I am using too much sea salt now, I use 1tsp of it in my electrolyte drink and additional sea salt applied pretty liberally on my meat and veggies. I recently had some blood work done and all my hormones came back normal (I knew that was coming) but my cholesterol was very high, I know you say it is a non-issue but here are my numbers: total cholesterol = 389, HDL = 92, LDL = 286 Thanks for your input. Adrenal fatigue causes thyroid problems like that last article I posted. Again, candida causes all of the body's cells to go rigid so nutrients, hormones, etc. are less able to get in and waste is less able to get out. This interferes with the functioning of the entire body, not just thyroid or adrenals. A lot of functions are handled within the body by more than one organ/area as well, i.e. metabolism. Are you taking all of the supplements, including omega 3, vitamins A, D, E, B Complex, Cal/Mag, etc., and not taking " other stuff " or drugs? Omega 3 and the oil soluble vitamins A, D & E are extremely important for the brain and mind. See the Depression & Anxiety file - it may be in the Treatments Folder, I'm not sure. > Can you recommend anything to help? Cholesterol is totally a non-issue. In fact your body does not make cholesterol from fats of any kind it makes it from carbs. My cholesterol was over 420 total 2 years ago and I am not in the least concerned about it; in fact it proves cholesterol is repairing and protecting my body. Of course mine will be higher because I do not have a thyroid. Bee

I can see how the total cholesterol issue is a moot point but how about the level of good HDL to total cholesterol? ==>Cholesterol is a protective and repair substance which is produced by body as required and there is no such thing as good and bad, but it makes money and confuses people. Treating the right thing would be mean treating the parts in the body that require such repair and protection. Bee
