Guest guest
Hi Keisha, Well, in the past he's done this but now I've asked him to send me to an Endo and got him involved. I'm not sure now if I can get him to go along with me now. I plan on telling him that I have fired that other doc but he still may not want to override what that doc has already told me. >I really think my adrenals need to be treated but I know my family doc will not have a clue about it. Sorry that you haven't got any replies on your lab results. I have a hard time understanding all that myself or I would help you. Are you a member of any other groups? That may help you get more immediate answers to your questions. I am a member of several and I post my same questions in each. It just expands my support. I think all of us dealing with this illness needs a strong support system. I am going to search for a link I have that may be of some help to you. I ll be back in touch! -Dana -- Re: More advice is needed! Hello Dana, I would just tell your doctor that you think that you are wanting to try another med to see if you feel better- I just recently told my doctor the same thing and he did it- Tell him you just yet are not feeling 100 percent better and you want to try something new- If he doesnt want to listen to you then I would recommend a second opinion. I Just posted some lab work here a few days ago and I still havent got any responce yet- so, I have no clue what my lab work means--lol-- take care - keisha " Sales@bargain_hunters_dream " <BHD@...> wrote: Ok guys forgive me! I know I just asked on my labs from Dec. But now I have new ones. My notion that doctors know best is just about gone! I know most people has recommended me be on Armour and I am ready to try it. I am making an appointment for this Monday to see my family doc and if I give him good reasoning he will probably give it to me. The endo is out! I'm sick of that whole damn place! I just got my lab report in the mail. They didn't even check my T3. TSH 0.28 (0.27 - 4.20) FT4 1.35 (.93 - 1.70) Comments from the nurse practioner: I think @ 137 mcg daily this will be too low. Instead try alternating 137/150mcg every other day. I have been on 150mcg synthroid since Oct. 03 until they switched me to 137mcg twice a week back in dec. On 1/22/04 I convinced her to drop me to only 137mcg a week ago because I thought I was having Hyper symptoms and now I get this note today. I am continuing to feel crummy since last Feb so I don't see how that is going to help me. Does anyone else? I really want to try Armour but since I have insurance I would rather get it prescribed if I can, it will be cheaper plus I need to keep getting my tests Please give me good points that I can bring up to my doc on Monday to why I should switch based on my test results. I know a lot of info is out there for me to research and believe me I do, but I have a hard time retaining a lot. Plus it's hard for me to worry about too many things at once. The docs just discovered a lump in my 26 year old brothers prostate and my attentions has been focused on that this last week. What test should I ask him to send me for? Thank you and God bless you all! -Dana
Guest guest
Hi Keisha, Glad you are feeling great! You can find many groups right here on groups. Go here search?query=hypothyroidism and there is plenty to choose from. You can sign up for as many as you can handle. Do another search such as thyroid, The thyroid support group and other specifics that you can think of and you will be amazed at the support that is available out there for you. Good luck! -Dana -- Re: More advice is needed! Guest guest
Fyi---it's always good to look at different points of view---but just let me say many of these other groups are sponsered by the medical community and think only their way, therefore you may not get some of the answers you seek. This group is run by no one, it's as free as freedom is!! best of luck to you!! tina > Ok guys forgive me! > I know I just asked on my labs from Dec. But now I have new ones.
