HI all,

I really need help with ideas of whats going on with me.. I'll list

my

last blood test results and this time blood results.. I feel like I'm

running out of steam and still have most of my symptoms. Most of the

symptoms have better than if I weren't taking any meds. , except the

nausea is back, I'm nauseated most every day.. I haven't vomitted

like

I used to but I feel like I'm going to sometimes. This is the first

time I've had the RT3 and the antibodies.

Blood drawn Aug. 29, 2005 in the morning

TSH: .01 normal: 0.34 - 4.82

FT4: 1.78 normal: .80 - 1.80

FT3: 3.8 normal: 2.4- 4.2

Blood drawn Oct. 17, 2005 in the morning

TSH: .22 normal .34 - 4.82

FT4: 1.08 normal .08 - 1.80

FT3: 2.6 normal 2.4 - 4.2

RT3: 165 normal 90 - 350 pg/ml

thyroid antibodies: very high

If you have any thoughts as to what could be going on with me please

let me know what the name of the tests are that I could have done to

see if it is whatever you might think it is.

I feel like crap.

thanks

take care

Bev

I wonder why you think you need another test? The definition of insanity

is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. (I

wish I could be as kind and diplomatic as Kerry!)

You need adrenal meds, in order to tolerate more thyroid meds, and you

certainly need more thyroid meds. You can self treat, there are books you

can read and competent docs you can go to, or you can wait until you are so

ill that the tests register something. Even then you may not get the help

you need.

Thanks for the thought Gracia, but I don't like the idea of self

medicating at this point, maybe later.. But I do plan on having my

adrenals tested next.

hi Bev,

The fact that your antibodies are very high (you didn't give numbers) is

enough reason for your doc to be concerned.

nausea in my experience is a sign that your liver is struggling - or its

possible its digestive but more likely liver IMO. At a guess I would

say that you need adrenal help -

It is no mystery to me that you are still suffering so much - you are

under medicated with thyroid hormone and you are not treating your

adrenals - and I don't know if you are on prescription drugs at all but

they will be interfering as well if you are. I'm not sure what else you

are doing to support your health - what vitamins and supplements do you

take?

There is nothing wrong with getting more tests if you have a doctor who

understands how to use them - and who also treats according to your

symptoms - find one of these!

For me personally I agree 100% with Gracia - After having hundreds of

blood tests over the years - I have had very few tests that a doctor

has usefully interpreted and used to treat me. Its a waste of time and

money for the most part. I'm only trying to save you money and

heartache - every year I have been sick because I couldn't get proper

help has cost me a fortune from not being able to work - I'm sure many

of us are in the same boat - it does not dispose me very favourably to

doctors who do not give me what I am paying them to give me.

Thanks Kerry for your info. I don't have the numbers yet on the

antibodies, I will Fri. That's my appt. I do take alot of vitamins,

I take presription meds. other than armour but I do take them about

12 hours later and for my vitamins I take them not less than 4 hours

later.

I do agree also. I just need some info and proof to take to my doc.

on Friday. I don't self medicate, not at this time. I don't feel I

have exausted all of my avenues.

thanks

Hi Bev,

I didn't mean the timing of your prescription meds - I meant that most

prescription meds (if not all) cause some side effects - how do you know

that some of what you are suffering is not due to this?

Drugs are usually treating symptoms which could be eliminated with

proper treatment for the actual cause of the problem - and in most cases

(not all) they are bad for your immune system and your health in general

- so if it was me I would be researching a lot to find out if the

medications are only band aiding symptoms that properly belong to

Hypothyroid or low adrenal or whatever - a prime example is high

cholesterol - it is a symptom of low thyroid and before treating it with

drugs a doctor should rule out low thyroid - otherwise you are just

complicating the problem....

Kerry,

I take vytorin. I just started taking it about May of this year,

I've had the symptoms for about 12 years to 6 years.. The other

drug I take is trazodone. I've taken it since 1986. I went off of it

for 2 years and still had the symptoms..So, I really don't think it

is that at all. Thanks for the thought though.
