Guest guest
> > Hello, > > I didn't meant to just jump into the conversation like that. I guess the vinegar information quite took me by surprise because I have such a problem with it. I guess now is a good time to introduce myself. I've been lurking here for a number of weeks, following Bee's candida advice, and reading all of the files. I was thrilled to find this group. ==>Hi Aria, welcome to our group. I'm glad you found us too! > > I had been following a paleo type candida diet very close to Bee's but I made some adjustments based on her advice and I am getting much > better results. I am a very disciplined person about health and diet. I was able to overcome Type 2 diabetes so that I am now able to live without medication of any kind. ==>Hooray for you on overcoming Type 2 diabetes! That's very well done! >I have not been able to make a dent in the candida problem until recently. I know I have a very long way to go but I feel much more optimistic now. > > The one thing I haven't seen discussed is PMLE. Three years ago, > around the same time the candidiasis symptoms became aggressive > I developed a severe " allergic " reaction to the sun. Every time I went into the sun I would become covered with horrible red itchy raised hives on my hands, arms, face, ears and upper chest. > > When I started to follow the advice suggested by Bee, the horrible rash returned even though I had not been in the sun. I wonder if the so called sun allergy i.e. PMLE is not really an allergy but another symptom of candida. The sun is anti-fungal and it makes sense that I would have die off because of the exposure. It never made sense to me that an olive skinned person who has never even had a mild sunburn would suddenly (in her late 30s) be allergic to the sun. ==>You thinking in the right direction Aria. It could be a healing reaction for sure. Strange things happen with candida, especially because it externalizes healing to the skin to protect vital inner organs. > > I hope it's possible that this is also a candida symptom. It's really horrible to live with and I'd do just about anything and give up any kind of food to get rid of it. For the past several weeks I have had this red itching flaking skin all over my face and it makes me self conscious as well as being extremely uncomfortable. I can't imagine what will happen when the sun comes out around here. ==>Do apply coconut oil liberally to all of your skin and take epsom salt baths. > > Okay, that's just a small part of my story. Thanks for listening. I've been enjoying the list and it's helped me put things together and feel a lot less like a hypochondriac. ==>I do hope that when the sun comes out full force you will not have such horrible reactions. Stick to the diet and taking supplements, etc. and you will get better! It does take time and patience. I'll be rooting for you Aria! I can't imagine what will happen when the sun comes out around here. Bee: Do apply coconut oil liberally to all of your skin and take epsom salt baths. Aria: Thanks Bee. I have been using coconut oil on the effected areas and epsom salt baths are a big help for many symptoms. I take it internally too. It's the only thing that helps at all, but although it takes down the swelling and flaking, it makes the itching worse. > The universe agrees with you about it not being an actual " allergy " because it happened again yesterday but I was inside and it was dark and raining all day. There was no sun. Bee: Thanks for letting me know about that. That confirms what I believe about it not being an allergy, which is always good to know, eh? Aria, did I let you know that the body externalizes healing to the skin in order to protect vital inner organs? The fact that you have swelling, flaking and itching means your body is working very hard for you, and that is a good thing even though it is very uncomfortable and embarrassing. It could be a type of eczema, psoriasis or even seborrhea, all of which are common when you have candida. It will take time to clear up, but it will! One day you too will be a sassy diva!!
