Guest guest
I wouldn't switch to Cortef because of a few reasons: #1 Cost - I can get generic Delta for $1 for 30 pills here, no Rx needed, and I'd have to import the Cortef in dollars, which would cost a ton; #2 PCOS - the protocol for PCOS is Prednisolone or Prednisone, not Hydrocortisone, so besides treating the adrenal fatigue, I am lowering my testosterone; #3 Hunger - Delta makes me very very hungry, and I can't afford to be even fatter (the more fat I have, the more testosterone), so I take it at night to avoid the " eating the house " effect and also because the protocol for PCOS says to take it at night. So I couldn't take Cortef and wake up in the middle of the night to take it. Jan Re: Re: Deltacortril and metformin you just have to try it! I like cortef better than delta right now. Delta is timed release. Gracia
Guest guest
I can understand the cost factor but I think some of your beliefs about cortisol are untrue. Cortef made me hungrier but it just didin't matter b/c I burned the calories and felt a lot better. With correct thyroid/adrenal treatment metabolism works efficiently and you can eat quite normally. Protocol for PCOS might be the same as protocol for hypothyroidism, i.e. not very good. Guest guest
I know for a fact the Delta makes me hungry, and nope, it didn't make me magically lose weight. Nothing makes me lose weight short of weighing every gram of food I eat and exercising at least 2h a day. I have 30lb to lose and the testosterone is still 3x higher than usual. Meanwhile, I am diabetic too so I am sure I can't lower blood sugar enough being this fat. So I can't afford to risk gaining more weight, or even maintaining this weight longer. If this is something that only happens after a while, I'd love to see it happen. But then again, it is not like I eat little already, I eat a lot as it is, I am not sure there is enough metabolism in the world that can have me eating more and losing weight. I am very strict in what I eat to lose weight, but not in the amount I eat - I thought I'd make it clear as most people who say they wanna lose weight eat a really low amount of calories, and probably eating more would boost their metabolism and help with weight loss. I am not gonna get that effect as I already eat " a ton " by normal standards. Actually, the protocol for PCOS by traditional doctors is " here is the pill, see ya next year " , same as hypothyroidism, just replace " Synthroid " with " the pill " . The protocol I am referring to is by holistic doctors who were influenced by Jefferies. Traditional doctors think that cortisol is only to be used for LOCAH, not PCOS, and that it can only help PCOS if DHEA is elevated. The holistic doctors are the ones who believe in adrenal fatigue and think that even if DHEA is normal, cortisol will rest the adrenals and reduce total output of sex hormones.
