Guest guest
Hello, I am new here but it in desperate help of support or ideas. I am a stay at home mom with two small children and a husband who keeps buying potatoes chips and pop. I have tried the Dr.Crooks diet and nearly starved and was really cranky-but that was probably from the Sugar cravings. Now I have a desire to change because I have moderate pscrisosis. I am asking if anyone has a daily food regime that won't make me starve and won't be so hard to prepare. I am juicing veggies, is that ok? Please help. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to our friendly helpful group. ==>Dr. Crook's diet is called the cave-man's diet, and most of it is good, but our diet is more complete with regards to " good " oils and fats (the reasons are explained in my article on the left side- bar). " Good " fats, i.e. coconut oil, are very important and will help you feel less starved. Unfortunately the diet is not simple to prepare since it cannot be obtained through prepackaged and preprocessed products. But your whole family will become more healthy and benefit a great deal by changing over their diet to a more healthy one as well. Grains, sugars and a lack of good oils & fats damage even a healthy person's health. I don't have a list of daily food regimes right now, but maybe others can also help you with ideas. Breakfast is the biggest problem for most of us, but any foods on the diet are good, especially eggs. Many of us also have buckwheat pancakes (posted in the Recipes File) slattered with butter. You will find a lot of great recipes and other helpful articles in the files and links located in the left side-bar here. Maybe some of the information will whet your creative urges for cooking so you can deal with the diet more comfortably. I've found that eating this way tastes so good and is so beneficial that I'm actually enjoying the time spent in the kitchen. Maybe with time you will too. I hope that helps. Guest guest
Here are some suggestions: Breakfast smoothie: 1 cup kefir (or home made yoghourt), 3 organic egg yolks (NO WHITES!), one tablespoon of organic cold pressed flax oil OR 4 tablespoons of organic coconut oil (melted in hot water). Whisk in a blender. Breakfast muesli: half a cup kefir cheese (made my straining kefir through muslin cloth), big handful of organic almonds - ground up in a grinder, one tablespoon of flax seeds - ground up in a grinder, one strawberry chopped up in to small pieces. Combine. Breakfast continental 1: 3 egg yolks and 1 egg white fried (SLOWLY) in coconut oil or butter, one small piece of organic chicken liver -fried as well, when all is ready toss in a big handful of spinach leaves and wait till they wilt slightly. Season to taste. Breakfast continental 2: 3 boiled eggs with tonnes of butter, a tin of sardines, a few teaspoons of sauerkraut (home made, NO VINEGAR). When hungry between meals, eat raw nuts (not roasted, not salted), drink kefir with flax oil mixed in. That should get you started. Irene [ ] please help with supportive advice on sticking to it. Guest guest
Dear , I also make an " Almond/Egg Drink " for breakfast - the recipe is in our files. All nuts must be soaked in an ocean sea salt like Celtic sea salt for 7 hours before eating them to remove the mineral blocking substances. My last batch of almonds are drying in the oven, with just the light on, even as I write. You can make variations of this recipes as well. Sometimes I also add coconut oil, which is a good way of getting enough good saturated oils to stimulate digestion and help the body create bile. Coconut oil is antifungal as well. I was free of candida for 18 years and recently developed any less serious case of it due to severe stress at work. I am almost over it now since I was laid off the end of July (what a blessing that was). My appetite was so bad I tried finding foods that would really appeal to me. An example of my favorite meal is: shrimp sauteed in 1/2 coconut oil and 1/2 butter with garlic, and a salad with baby mixed greens, avocado, boiled eggs, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and homemade dressing (cold pressed sesame oil, lemon juice, garlic & spices). There are recipes for dressings, mayonnaise, etc. in our files as well. The best to you, Bee
