the smell of Lysol caused me a headache

Hi all,

I had a weird experience yesterday and am hoping someone can shed

some light on it. I was at work and all of a sudden felt this

strange headache come on and then smelled a really bad and

overwhelming smell, a chemical smell. It smelled like Lysol. I got

up, was dizzy and went into the other room. My coworker was

spraying Lysol all around the garbage can. She said she smelled

something rotten and instead of trying to find the rotting food, she

just sprayed it.

Well, this Lysol smell stayed with me the entire day. I just could

not function. We can't open our windows, so I went outside for a

bit. When I came in, the entire floor smelled like Lysol, esp the

room where it was sprayed. I complained about it to another

coworker who could see that I did not look well. She told me she

could not smell it at all.

I came home was just fried. I lay on the couch and could not lift my

head. I slept terribly and had a headache and woke up with it. I

went into work and BAM it was the first thing I smelled. My

coworkers think I am nuts. No one else smells it.

Prior to this, I have never had a problem with Lysol or any type of

cleaning agent. I am sure this sensitivity is due to the candida.

What can I do? I know to work on the diet, but if I am exposed to a

spray, what can I do? I wanted to take some Tylenol so bad, but I

didn't, I just kept drinking my water.

I wonder if today, the day after, do I really smell it, or do I

THINK I smell it?

TIA

Dear Paws,

You definitely had a chemical sensitivity reaction to the Lysol.

What is lingering with you is the memory of it in your mind, which

can also recal the actual smell, just like when you remember having a

delicious turkey dinner and you can almost smell the turkey.

This reaction will improve a bit as you progress in curing your

candida. But Lysol is very toxic. Even now I cannot stand it even

though I don't get a physical reaction any more like I did when I had

candida.

Onward & upward - continue on the candida program!

Cheers, Bee
