I mentioned I have good days and bad days, which seem to be the case for most

candida sufferers. I noticed the following fact: usually, when I wake up, I

feel in my bones its going to be a bad day: more muscle aches, more fatigue,

possibly brainfog. On these days, I noticed also there seem to be more white

stuff in my BM: liquid white stuff, or sometimes white clots.

The link between chronic fatigue and candida interest me: the three

occurences of health problems I had in my life were in 87; after working like a

dog on

my thesis, I collapsed and had chronic fatigue, It went away by itself after a

year and 2 years later, I was back to normal.

And then my 2 bouts of candida, In 95 and now.

Has anybody here suffered from chronic fatigue?

I have had what would probably be described as " chronic fatigue " for

several years. It's been a little better over the last month, but I

generally feel completely exhausted the whole day, even after plenty of

sleep. Sometimes at work I get so tired I almost fall asleep in my chair.

For a couple years I attributed this to being overweight and lack of

exercise. Now I believe it's candida related.

I too have suffered from fatigue - although mine does not usually last all

day. I believe, for me, there is an underlying dullness of mind from the

candida - which is made worse for periods of 2 to 8 hours by certain

foods. According to Bee's article and my former alternative medicine MD,

the allergies are tied up with the candida. If this is your problem too, a

rotation diet will quickly show you which foods to avoid until your body is

back to normal.

There's something else that I've been wanting to ask Bee about, which is

fatigue related. The other day I felt well enough to attempt about half of

my exercise routine. It combines step and low-impact aerobics with a

dumbell routine and is pretty strenuous. When I haven't done it in awhile,

it takes me a few weeks to get back up to speed. Anyway, the day I did the

workout, I was fine afterward, but a few hours later, I was brain fogged

and exhausted and remained that way for the rest of the day. At the time,

I blamed it on the restaurant lunch we'd eaten (steak, fresh tomatoes and

sauteed onion - I thought maybe the oil was the culprit), but now I wonder

if it was the exercise that had stirred up the die-off. I've been a little

afraid to work out again since it happened. Losing half a day makes it

very tough to function. What do you think, Bee?

Yes Francine, I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome starting in 1988. Back then, to

be diagnosed, you had to have 8 out of 12 symptoms for over 6 months. I was

doing a lot of freelance work up in Lake Tahoe California where that first

big group of skiers and aerobics instructors came down with it all together.

Most of us were in our mid-thirties and so it was called the " Yuppie Flu "

out here. Formerly quite athletic, I simply couldn't function, couldn't get

out of bed much for about a year. At times I couldn't remember my own phone

number. I couldn't drive. Of course, I had to quit my crazy (and fun!)

active job in live network TV.

The condition was called Epstein Bar Virus (EBV) back then but in any case

was attributed to our being " head cases " .

The Candida I'm experiencing now (15 years later) is quite similar to CFS

but not nearly so severe. With CFID's I was virtually paralyzed. With

Candida I'm terribly exhausted and depressed but don't have the swollen

lymph glands in my neck and the odd metallic taste in my mouth. I don't

remember CFS as having so many digestive elements either. ~Robin
