I have given up any type of bread so I cannot say If baked products with yeast would give me allergic reactions now. When I first had candida, and didn't do the diet since i was not aware of candidiasis, I kept on eating bread (white bread only) and had no reactions. I think, beyond theory, there must be individual differences at work here. Also, the foods that give me the worst allergic reactions are known to be allergenic: peanuts, most nuts in particular walnuts and almonds, strawberries, kiwis, avocados, solanaceas like eggplants. And overtime, the foods that give you allergic reaction might change. You said you were limited to 9 foods. Just out of curiosity, what where those foods? Right now, my diet is limited to white rice (complete cereals give me reactions), artichokes, zucchini, salads, spinach, turnips, endives, carrots, brocolis, cauliflower poultry and some fish.A number of fruit are fine--pears, plums or peaches, not apples--but the sugar content is a problem. Come to think about it, the number of foods I can eat is not vastly superior to yours. Thanks Bee for your answers and patience. francine .. I am just eating big quantities of the foods I can eat. I do not have upset stomach when I have an allergic reaction. I just feel terrible, with a number of very unpleasant symptoms. Guest guest
Dear Francine, I don't know of any studies to proven that yeast based foods, molds and fungi aggravate candida. But I haven't searched for them either. I know that I had an allergic reaction to them and it was severe and sudden. I didn't " try " all of the yeasty, moldy or fungal- type foods. I got a reaction to yeast in baked goods, peanut butter, leftovers, dried fruits, and yeast containing supplements. When I eliminated them I had no reactions of that kind. The best, Bee candida overgrowth can greatly increase the chances of an immune reaction to all types and forms of fungi. This results in an allergic response to yeast, mold and fungi, including mycotoxins. > Dans un e-mail daté du 29/05/2004 15:12:06 Romance Standard Time, > beewilder@s... a écrit : > > > > =====>I am particularly pleased you have had good results from lacto- > > fermented foods. Guest guest
Dear Francine, I don't remember exactly which 9 foods I could eat because that was in 1985, 19 years ago. But I do remember that I could have lamb, beef, kale, spinach, zucchini, mustard greens, swiss chard, eggs and butter. That's 9, right? Lo? In three months I was able to have buckwheat but it caused my stomach to be upset. My doctor advised that I put up with the upset because I needed to stop losing 3 lbs. a day. I did, and I stopped losing weight. I didn't try a couple of foods that you tolerate, i.e. endive or artichokes. But I definitely couldn't eat chicken, fish, fruits, turnips, carrots, brocolli, or cauliflower. In fact I remained sensitive to brocolli (it always caused me a digestive disturbance) until just a year or so ago. Like I said anything I couldn't tolerate came back up, so I had no choice. I tried lots and lots of different foods - much of it was wasted, except that my mother took care of me and she could eat them. Later I would give foods I couldn't eat to my friends or neighbors.
