Guest guest Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Hello. I have been suffering from a deep, progressive fatigue for many years. It's finally gotten so bad that I went to a " natural doctor " who told me that I most likely have Candida, but there could possibly be thyroid involvement. I also have had chronic sinus infections for 20 years, several yeast infections over the last ten years, and problems with achy joints. I used to be a very energetic person, but gradually have become so exhausted that I can hardly make myself get out of bed. I've had many courses of antibiotics in my adult life and and I'm a sugar freak. I think the doctor may have a good point. She put me on a Candida diet that includes brown rice, quinoa, etc. and also an apple every day if I want to. I've done some homework and quickly cut the rice and apples out completely and have been following a good Candida diet for almost three weeks. She also put me on several vitamin/mineral supplements, CoQ10, and an antifungal called Formula SF722 (castor bean derivative). Also a probiotic. She says she likes to hit it hard. No dairy, no gluten, no alcohol, no fungus foods (mushrooms, vinegar, pickles). The first two weeks were awful, but I'd heard one gets worse before one gets better. I'm supposed to call after 3 weeks if I don't feel at least 50% better. I'd say that I'm probably back to where I started plus maybe 5-10%. Maybe. I've been reading here for a few weeks and noticed that a lot of people have a main problem of vaginal yeast, but haven't seen much about major exhaustion. Has anyone else had the main complaint be fatigue? And how long does it take to start really feeling human again? I'm desperate to hear stories of hope. I feel so scared that I'll be like this forever. Being too exhausted to move is no way to live. I don't think thyroid is the problem as I don't have many of the other symptoms. My weight is average for my height and I don't have dry, fragile hair or dry skin. Well, maybe my temp has always run low, as has my blood pressure. So who knows? Also, one other question. Is well water ok, rather than filtered water? I live way out in rural, northern MN so there isn't any industrial pollution. Nobody farms with pesticides etc. here, but the water is full of minerals. If I go to my parent's for drinking water it is clear, but my well has a lot of iron and other crusty things in it--but it's been tested clean. Thanks for listening. You're good people, and I appreciate all the help I've gotten from reading the files and your messages. Thank you! Eilie Quote
