Guest guest
Amy, I am far from being personally offended so give it no further thought(when someone repeatedly stomps their feet for God not to be mentioned as part of a person's daily experience, that is very negatively limiting to what is helpful...and yes, it is to some and not others. Some Christians are known to stand secure in the faith. : ) I never " argue " what is spiritually discerned concerning the faith...the natural mind never is changed when a person isn't in need.). Okay...now, I'm wondering if you have tried slippery elm or any digestive supplements or possibly even Aloe Vera Juice. I've done slippery elm but not Hydrochloric Acid tablets or digestive enzymes and Aloe Vera is very healing for some yet others find it a bit of a laxative(which does help move things that need to go yet can be irritating to those already irritated). I've gotten used to grazing like a cow and munching like a bunny; it is always rough in the beginning with any change for the better. Easier said than done, I know, but it is important to persevere. Faith helps me there...that is not true for everyone. Sometimes finding what can be eaten without distress is a try and either a " keeper " or something that must be eliminated(introduced later successfully does happen). What all do you eat now? I do eat raw vegetables but find they are the harder to digest over steamed veggies for me. But definitely improving! When you say IBS/colitis, do you mean primarily constipation or non stop? It is always wise to be slow to take offense personally, Amy. What you've said isn't offensive to me. Thanks, though for wanting to be a part of the solution. Yours in Christ, Joyce : )
Guest guest
You are free, , to share your beliefs and I would be very interested in hearing on this list how they have given you hope and helped you deal with or overcome candida. I've shared here and in private Who I stand for...you have clearly said " no thanks " and that is adequate for me to no longer converse with you privately unless you ask differently...that is your choice and I have no intention of denying mine(here or anywhere). Guest guest
Hey Amy, Good luck on cutting down carbs...I could never do it. Every time I try, I end up eating even more of them later (usually in a binge) and then it's just worse overall. So, if I want them, I have them. I just compensate in other ways. This part goes to anyone, including Amy...I don't know if I've talked about the book Potatoes Not Prozac on this list before. My whole life I have felt like I'm literally *addicted* to sugar. There's also alcoholism in my family and I know there have been proven to be connections between alcoholism and sugar tolerance. I found this book, and the author talks about an actual biochemical basis for the connection. She details a 7-step program (I know, we've all been on enough of those, but it's worth a try) in which to help your brain chemistry " learn " to get away from a sugar-sensitive state. It's a very gradual process and it's very kind to your mind and body too. There's also a website http://www.radiantrecovery.com . I'm doing the program now, and while the withdrawal (from sugar) is still bad, it's better than the die-off from completely cutting sugar....I'm not being especially clear about all this, just check out the book/website...it's good stuff!!! Guest guest
, thank you so much for sharing what is important to you and the power it has in your life. You have experienced many personal failures and imbalances in your physical health that you were able to work on controlling...now please relax. No one can convert you to a saint! That is the work of the Holy Spirit and no human on the face of this earth. Personally, when left to myself and the weakness of the flesh, only negative results. Oh, external positives may be highly visible...I may get better physically or achieve great things in my own strength and " I " have...unfortunately my body continually heads toward expiration (wrinkles and all) with age regardless...one fix after another necessary. My attitude is always prideful and very unattractive to be around when " self " sits on the throne. To me, control of self is not possible outside a power greater than flesh as there is always the hint of failure that is possible in any circumstance outside my control. You consider that weakness. I agree. With clarification. " I " chose to be momentarily weak in order to receive greater strength for daily living through God that is the great " I am " ...no beginning and no end. I do not cling to Him...He sought me when I had no desire for anything other than self being in control and He forever after holds me with His grace and mercy. Yes, I do need Him but that isn't something to pity me for...be glad!. Encourage me and others that have hope for today and tomorrow that death and sin no longer holds power over. , I would do just about anything for you that I might be equipped to do...I serve others over myself with one limitation. The one thing I cannot do is deny what I am which involves Christ living and working in and through me. I do not make a habit of jumping on any forum or list for the purpose of winning anyone to Christ. Truly, I am glad for any blessings that are evident in your life and seek your highest good. You have said you are not interested in the relationship that I have...that is not between me and you but between you and God. I am only here speaking to you by His sovereign design. In and of myself, there is no relationship to offer you that would be anything other than temporal. Walk the path as you desire, . I will pray for you even if we no longer have an opportunity to share with each other. Be well! Keep in touch here or in private, if you like. Guest guest
Amy, I am on Dr. Macfarland's diet. The carbs that you can have on it are brown rice, yams, sweet potatoes, amaranth, quinoa, and millet. These are low on the allergy list and produce less ammonia than wheat. It is working great for me so far and I tried to get on other candida diets for years. Hope this helps!! Robin in NC P.S I sometimes have a reaction to brown rice, but not if I rotate it. Hi !!!! Guest guest
Hi Myra, I am not sure how to respond to the mold issue with brown rice. I just know what is working for me. Some people are allergic to it and thus they need to stay away from it. As we all know there is a lot of contradictory information out there where food is concerned. So far, Dr. Macfarland's program is great. I may mention that I am taking a lot of amino acids on the program and that is helping me to have energy so that I don't crave carbos. Smiles, Robin Hi !!!! Guest guest
At this point, I do try to eat organic where possible. Soy is a no no on the program that I am following, as well as vineger. Dr. Macfarland is going to post the diet portion of his program on the web soon, so it will be available for viewing. Do you have mercury fillings in your mouth? Smiles, Robin Hi !!!! This is the last time I post about the religion thing. I really think that we all need to stop badgering each other about our personal belief systems. What works for one person may not work for another. I personally am not into organized religion, but I would never put down someone for their beliefs. We all need to find something that helps us individually. My backround is in social work and there are many studies that were done about how spirituality helps people heal. How people define their spirituality is up to them. Some people need a more " organized religion " , while others are able to find what they on their own. I hope that people on this list can get beyond this. I know that I need a lot of support with my candida issue. I am trying to limit carbohydrates from my diet, but am find it very difficult. I will take any suggestion that anyone has to help deal with this. My last thought on religion is that I know in a previous post I probably sounded more angry than I do at this time. After reading the last 2 digests, I have realized that people need to stop trying to make other people agree with their beliefs. Actually, it seems as though the person on the list that keeps sending angry remarks about " organized religion " is the one trying to force things. It's too bad that this really stemmed from one post. I hope that we can all get beyond this and start writing more about symptoms and how our body's felt during a carb free diet. I personally have been diagnosed with either IBS/colitis and have digestion problems. I am hoping that a carb free diet will help with my digestion issues and stop some of the pain and uncomfort that I have. Thanks, sorry for the long post. I hope that it makes sense and that I haven't offended anyone. Amy
Guest guest
Yes and my doctor wants them out. He even has a special dentist that does this for him. Myra Hi !!!!
