You might try looking at <A HREF= " http://www.acam.org/ " >ACAM list of MD's</A>

at http://www.acam.org/ to find yourself an alternative med practitioner.

I have a hard time believing that ANY state, anymore, is totally lacking in

them. It IS possible that you are just not aware of any, since they DO tend

to be rather obscure. Also, visit this website, <A

HREF= " http://www.healthyawareness.com/Candida/index.htm " >Healthy Awareness

Candida Forum</A> at http://www.healthyawareness.com/Candida/index.htm

It's a GREAT site, where you can ask questions and get wonderful information.

There is a good bit of stuff there on sinus problems. Also, another source

of info for you and your MD might be this. <A

HREF= " http://www.mayo.edu/sinusitis/ " >mayo fungal sinusitis</A> at

http://www.healthyawareness.com/Candida/index.htm, the original paper written

on fungal sinusitis.

KMCCLANE: Hi, first let me tell you my Md's fed me antibiotic's for 10 yrs

from August thru April every year one after another because nothing would

work. Now........you can feel better!! Do Not Eat Sugar, Yeast, fermented,

processed foods. You can take Garlic, Organol Oil Capsules, No vitamins,

grapeseed, no acidolphis (others may disagree) drink distilled water and lots

of it! you can do a sinus wash if desired, take no steroids. i follow the

advice of Biamonte, he does have a web site, i suggest you print out

all his information, you can call him but he is expensive but i to was

desperate and he helped me so i thought he was worth it! my yeast is gone but

i'm dealing with other factors. his site is

I have had major sinus problems with a fungal infection in my sinuses, and I

got some plain nasal saline solution, added a half dozen drops of tea tree

oil (you could add an antifungal extract that you are not allergic to) and

started using it several times a day. Grapefruit seed extract comes in

liquid form, and could be used, if you can't handle tea tree oil. It stings

like crazy for the first few times that I used it, but as the infection

began to clear up, the stinging disappeared. Also consider taking olive leaf

extract. It can help clear fungal infections that are systemic, and its one

of the few antifungals that candida doesn't seem to become resistant to.

My alternative doctor has me take 500 mg. of Quercetin and 1 g. of Vitamin C

if I have an allergic reaction. It helps block histamine production like an

antihistamine. Its effects last for about 4 hours, although she said that I

could take it as often as every hour for severe allergies if necessary. It

is much safer than steroids. Steroids, by the way, are like ambrosia for

candida. They're a sure way to develop a yeast infection. If you are

allergic to the fungal infection in your sinuses, the last thing you want to

take are steroids. That includes the steroid nasal sprays. And

antihistamines don't really block histamine production. They just stop it

from reacting to the mucus linings. Your body still has to do something with

it, and it usually ends up causing damage elsewhere. And as your body tries

to gear up more to overcome the effects of the antihistamines, the allergic

reactions increase. Antihistamines and Steroids end up contributing to the

problem they are intended to treat. They keep doctors and pharmaceutical

companies in business, but they keep people enslaved to using them once they

start down that road. Quercetin and Vitamin C, together, block the

production of histamine at the source, and prevent the allergic reaction

from becoming severe without the side effects of antihistamines and

steroids. At the least, it might allow you to use less of them.

It sounds like you are allergic to everything, so my guess is that you

undoubtedly have leaky gut syndrome. It may seem like it is unrelated to

your sinus problems, but people with severely imbalanced immune systems

usually start with leaky gut syndrome. There are several companies that make

a supplement that has L-Glutamine that helps to heal leaky gut syndrome. NAG

and phosphatidylcholine can help improve the effectiveness of the

L-Glutamine. And interestingly, it also helps to heal the mucus membranes in

the sinuses, as well, which would help you.

You might consider going to an NAET therapist if you can find one. They can

permanently eliminate your allergies and help to rebalance your immune

system so that you aren't so allergic to everything and so your immune

system will start attacking what it's supposed to. It takes a long time to

go through the process if you are struggling with tons of allergies, because

they can only clear you of one allergy at a time. But as each allergy is

cleared, life will become a little easier to live with. I have to travel to

another state to see one, but decided since NAET is a permanent solution,

and the allergies will be cleared for the rest of my life, it was worth the

sacrifice for now. I also have to travel out of my state to see an

alternative practitioner. However, many alternative practitioners will let

you do phone consultations after the first visit, so that you wouldn't have

to continue traveling out of state.

My husband has had several sinus operations as well. After his latest one on

monday i

talked the doctor into giving him a prescription for Diflican. Its suppose to

be very good

for killing the fungus and backing off on the yeast. It hasn't even been a week

yet so i

dont know how well its working. I do know though that taking the steroids will

increase

the yeast in your body along with antibiotics.

Im just curious, why shouldn't you take vitamins? The ones i take are both

yeast and wheat

free. If your not taking vitamins how can your body get strong enough to fight

off the

infections naturally?

Hi !

I´m 36 years too and have been trying to fight Candida for about a

year now. One year went to trying to figure out what was wrong with

me.

I have learned many things i.e. the " school " medicine doctors can´t

or won´t help. No more antibiotics! Diflucan can make you feel better

for a while only.

Go on a low carb, sugarless diet and check out these pages:

www.modernherbalist.com

that is The Modern Herbalist in California that specialises in anti-

Candida products. I am currently waiting for my Formula SF722 and

other products. I am absolutely sure that they will make me as good

as new.

The other page is Tripps homepage. She is from Canada and knows

all about Candida, so please check out karentripp.terrashare.com.

Good luck and please write if you feel like it.

Take vitamins and acidophilus. While it is true that candida

sufferers may have malabsorbtion problems due to likely damage to the

intestinal mucosa, that is a reason *to* take supplements, not a

reason not to take them. If you feel sluggish, you might try a

sublingual B complex. Vitamin C is a MUST (3 to 10 grams a day)

because it is a powerful detoxer. Sufficient antioxidants are a must,

since you will dump a lot of toxins into your bloodstream during the

die-off process. You really need some professional help if you are

new to this. Dealing with Candida is tricky, and there is no one-size-

fits-all solution, although there certainly is a lot of overlap in

the treatments. This is because people who have Candida problems

usually suffer from other problems concurrently. For example, many

people have blood sugar problems which require additional

consideration. You may cure the Candida problem and still feel lousy

and not know why. If the Candida overgrowth is rather advanced, you

will no doubt have intestinal permeability problems ( " leaky gut " )

which requires special care. Some people only have overgrowth in the

intestines. Some people have a situtation where the yeast has

migrated to different parts of the body. Do yourself a favor and find

someone who has plenty of experience treating this problem

*successfully*, and get references. I would advise against using

someone whom you cannot meet with personally, at least once. MDs and

NPs with degrees from a reputable institution are the better choice

in my opinion.

Thanks Pia,

Ive been on low carb diets before, i do very well on them and have had alot of

success in

the past. However, It was never with the purpose to reduce yeast and they were

very

restrictive. If i had a bowl of brown or wild rice it was considered that i went

off my

diet so I would then start " cheating " again. This time I see the purpose to the

diet

change and can add a few more carbs so i really doubt i will have as much of a

problem

with. Im not setting myself up to fail.

thanks for links i will check them out:)

Excellent advice, . I agree. I, too, had MAJOR sinus problems with my

allergies. When I finally gave up on my doctors, I decided I would live with

my solution of Benadryl every 4 hours for the rest of my life. It was the

only thing that made me feel half way normal....until I started taking

Quercetin, Vit. C, and Vit. A. I took 1200 mg. of Quercetin every day with

3-5 grams of Vit. C and 100,000 IU Beta Carotene (the body uses what it needs

and turns it into Vit A). Within 3 months I was completely off the Benadryl,

haven't touched it since, and haven't had sinus problems since even though I

haven't taken the Quercetin in years. If I ever came down with

sinuses/allergies that bad again (my sinuses were so plugged I was getting

motion sickness by walking), I wouldn't take anything else.

I'm also doing NAET treatments through my chiropractor. My insurance pays

for 80% of the treatments and I've had very slow but progressive die-off (not

unbearable) since I started and I haven't been eating properly. Also, since

he cleared my yeast allergy, I've made miraculous progress.
