Guest guest Posted September 21, 2010 Report Share Posted September 21, 2010 The 2010 CALDA Lymewalks are a series of six events to increase awareness of Lyme disease throughout the state while raising money for Lyme research. On September 25, events will be in Sacramento and Ukiah. On September 26, there will be a Lymewalk in San Francisco. Details of events here: September 25, 11 a.m. Sacramento, CA Co-sponsored by Lyme Support Sacramento. We'll gather at a group picnic site at McKinley Park (601 Alhambra Blvd.) at 11 a.m. Meet us on the H Street side of the park, next to the rose garden. Look for the green balloons! Wear lime green if you can and bring your own lunch. After an easy stroll in the park, we'll have a group picnic. Special guest will be Sacramento triathlete Pamela O'Kane. After a brutal struggle with Lyme disease, she now competes in world class triathlons. She's just returned from world competition in Budapest, Hungary, as a member of Team USA. For more information, email saclyme@.... September 25, 10 a.m. Ukiah, CA Meet us at on Grove picnic area in Low Gap Regional Park. It's a short distance up the hill from the parking lot and bridge. Wear green, or better yet, wear your CALDA " Ticks Suck " T-shirt (we'll have some for sale on site - $17/ea.). Those of us who are able will make the easy hike (great views). Others can sit in the covered picnic area until we get back. Bring food and drink to share. For info, contact pmerv@.... September 26, 1 p.m. San Francisco, CA Meet 1pm at the corner of Larkin & Fulton, next to the Main Library. (Civic Center BART/Muni station). Easy sidewalk route around the Civic Center area, dogs welcome, follow-up slideshow/discussion at the Main Library, cafeteria food and drink available, post-walk pet owner education outside.
