Ridiculous. What a maroon. (the doc, not you) I am living proof that you

can take natural thyroid and find the right dose, with a " normal " tsh. This

is the worst kind of doc, who ignores symptoms and treats a piece of paper.

I really don't believe she'll be " practicing " this way for long though, as

empowered patients demand better.

Dear Debby,

You should call the doctor anyway but whenever I used to eat Bubblegum snowcones that were colored blue I had the same thing :)

I would think blueberries are suspect as the same thing happened to my

Thank you for your input! I appreciate it....since I don't have any pain or anything, I will guess it is the blueberry input. I appreciate all of you getting back to me.

I get that every now and then. My doctor

doesn’t seem too concerned. When it does happen I get very tired. But my

labs look great.

every heard about Swiss Flower Pollen I also heard it was great for the

immunity and energy?

Can anyone help me.

Thanks

I don't have an answer for most of your questions, but Solaray is a very

reliable label and follows the newer standardization standards. I don't know if

it does any more good than any other brand.

question

Hi everybody-Hope all is well. I am still awaiting the test result

that will test from number 5 to 600 to see where I am at. Apparently,

due to the holidays it is taking longer than usual to get the test

back. My question is, most of the time I get my milk thistle at any

drug store or even walmart and it says to take 3 pills on the bottle

and. Anyway, today I went to a Mother Earth store (gosh, what price

differences on everything) Anyway, I ended up paying 16.50 for a

bottle of 30 and it states on the bottleMilk Thistle (Silybum

marianum (seed extract) 350mg (Guaranteed 280mg *80%) silymarin

Also states that NO ingredients other than those listed on this label

hv been added to this product. The other ingredients are Gelating

(casule) and magnesium stearate. The brand name of the milk thistle

is SOLARY.My question is am I paying more because it did come from a

herbal store it am I really getting my money's worth. It also says to

take only 1 tablet a day and I hv been taking 3 tablets a dy of more

cheaper stuff. Is the cheaper stuff really full of fillers like the

lady said when I asked y is it so much more expensive here

(everything ws) She stated u get more of the active ingredient of

what u are wanting than what u buy in other stores like Walmart. Can

anyone tell me if SOLARAY is a good brand name as I hv never heard of

it. Also, she said they usually hv the milk thistle in a powder form

and i hv never heard of this either. Hs anyone else and if so could u

explain the difference. I would gladly pay the extra money if I knew

it ws doing me more good, but how do we know. She also said theirs

were standarized versus what u get at walmart or other drug stores

but i hv noticed some of the herbs i get from walmart are

standarrdized. Bottom line--am i wasting my money. Any responses--

welcome.

A local news broadcast warning people about herbs said that the brands who had a

HI.If you read all the stuff people write about getting cancer you can get

cancer from just about everything, except water.It.s no use taking vit.C in large

quantities in one time, your body will just flush it out, most part anyway. If you

take C you must take small amounts several times a day.I carry a little

candy-box with me with c in it.Instead of taking a candy I take 50mg of c,lemon

flavour. There was a swedish docter,I think his name was ing, back in the

nineties(?)who gave people large quantities of c,5000 mg a day or there

about, claiming it would cure almost anything, incl. cancer. He faded away and his

theraphy also.Naturel vit.c is the best and better absorb by the body then

artificial c.Eat lots of fruit,rosebut-marmelade on your sandwiches or as a

beverage..

question

I recently read that high doses of vit C can cause cancer. What is

considered high doses?? Is there any truth to this?? My dr. says he

wants me on 1000mg per day. Also, hv read to take on empty stomach

because of the iron factor--any truth to this also??? Thanks--Still

hvn't gotten my number from 5-600 yet. Hope it is just the holidays

holding it up and not something they are wanting me to see the dr so

the dr can tell me something. U know when u don't get what u expect

on time how things can go thru a persons head. U all know what a

worrier I am anyway. Which i know i shouldn't, but i can't help it in

cases like this. Any and all responses welcome.

Cher...

I've not ever heard anything about vitamin C causing cancer. What your body

doesn't use is expelled through urine and feces...it is not stored in your body.

1000mg is not all that much...I take 1000mg, 2x a day. Things like caffeine and

nicotine destroy the C in your body so if you smoke or drink caffeine, you need

to replenish that C. And C is an immune booster.

And the reason why people with hep c shouldn't take C around meal times is

because it increases the body's absorption of iron. So you don't want to take it

with food because you don't want your body to absorb any iron that it wouldn't

otherwise absorb.

HOLY MOLY! 16.50 for 30 pills?! But one pill of this stuff has as almost

much as three of the kind I take (Jarrows Standardized Silymarin

80%-150mg/120mg silymarin content). The other brands of pills don't

necessarily hve more fillers in them, they could just be smaller. My pills

are rather small. I don't know if there is an advantage or disadvantage in

getting the silymarin in smaller doses 3X daily, vs 1 large daily dose.

Unfortunately, Milk Thistle is a bit higher in price than some supplements.

How about ordering from on-line companies, or through mail/phone order?

They generally are cheaper than stores, and you don't have to listen to

sales clerks hard-sell lines. Solaray, I think is a good line. Walmarts

carries Sundown, which is also a good line. If I am remembering correctly,

240 or 360mg per day of silymarin is the optimal dose for liver health.

That, I think, is the bottom line-if you are getting enough silymarin to do

any good for your liver, verses good for the vendor's pocket.

gail

PS-powder form probably tastes terrible-I have yet to take any supplement in

powder form that didn't! It usually runs a little cheaper though-company

saved on the expense of capsuling the stuff.

It seems like I remember reading somewhere that the body would only

utilize any amount of silymarin taken in the 6 - 8 hours after taking

it, so it should be taken in smaller, more frequent doses. Sorry, but

I don't recall where I read this right now, and no time to check it

out. Maybe later - if I don't forget!

Gail,

Do you have stores there like Applebees Dollar

store? I have found stuff there, and is not out of

date. I asked about it and the manager told me they

buy from stuff from places closing or just getting rid

of stock. Have seen labels there of these drup places

on the net. The stores are all they charge is $1.00

for everything. Sometimes like holiday stuff goes for

like 5 for a $1.00. They have pretty neat stuff. I

have got Silymarin there, ginger root capsules, Milk

of Magnesia, you would have to see it to know what I

mean. They are NOT connected with Dollar stores where

prices range from a $1.00 to maybe $20 (just an

example).

have got Silymarin there, ginger root capsules, Milk

of Magnesia, you would have to see it to know what I

mean. They are NOT connected with Dollar stores where

prices range from a $1.00 to maybe $20 (just an

example).

Take Care Connie
