Guest guest
Okay, so I am pretty sure I posted this already, but as all of you late stage lymies know, your brain is not quite the same and your memory sucks!!! So here's the question, does anyone else have problems in the morning? I have the hardest time waking up before 9 am, (used to be up at 5 daily) when I do get up, I am so dizzy, groggy, SORE, and crabby until about 11 am, and then I start to get some energy (nowhere near the kind of energy I used to have....) I am trying tea, as it seems that I am now allergic to coffee among all things, and can't drink pop, diet or not, since I have candida.....Has anyone ever mentioned this disease SUCKS????? Hahahaha, oh well I guess....The funny thing is, whenever I start a new antibiotic, like the 3rd day, I am up early with energy and feel like my old self again...(almost) but that only lasts for like 3 days and then I am back to feeling like crap again. Thanks Bridget
Guest guest
Perhaps it might be time to try some natural treatments instead of antibiotics? My wife has did well on salt/c and now uses CS/Rife as her prime treatments. She avoids the side effects of ABX such as Candida and has a good life style. She is off skiing today. A far cry from how she felt 3 years ago when she first came down with Chronic Lyme! www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > [ ] Mornings suck!!! > > Okay, so I am pretty sure I posted this already, but as all > of you late stage lymies know, your brain is not quite the > same and your memory sucks!!! Guest guest
Yep. I call them " slow-start mornings. " I don't schedule anything in my life before 11 am if I can possibly help it, because I need to build in time to work through this yucky morning stuff. (I only make it to church about half the time. I've told the minister that the only problem I have is that it's at 10:30. Getting myself up, dressed, and presentable by that hour is just HARD. If it was at 11:30, I'd probably never miss it: I'm reliably pretty good by then.) All of this used to be a hundred times worse before I had my sleep study done and got outfitted with my CPAP. What I have now is minor compared to that. If you haven't had a sleep study, talk to your GP about setting you up with one. It may be that there's a lot that can be done. Lyme treatment has done a lot to help the morning issues that remain, but it seems possible that what's left may be with me for life. (And maybe it's just aging.) A big mug of hot tea sure helps me. Since moving to Canada, I've acquired a taste for Tetley -- a sturdy British breakfast tea that's so black you can almost chew it. My husband usually gets up before I do, and I often wake up to find a thermos mug of the stuff waiting for me on the nightstand. He's a keeper. If you'd rather stick with green tea (a smart choice), the gunpowder varieties also have the kind of kick that's good for a morning jump-start. When I really hurt, I take two aspirin the minute I wake up enough to realize how bad it is. (I keep a bottle in my nightstand for this reason.) I'm guaranteed to feel far more functional in half an hour. A hot shower sometimes helps, too -- but it also sometimes sends me right back to bed, feeling better but now sleepy again. When I'm really sore, I just lie in bed and start moving gently. Just wiggling fingers and toes to start. When those feel fine, I do ankles and wrists. Then I gently begin to move and stretch the knees and elbows, and turn my head and neck. Bit by bit, the creaky feeling works itself through. It takes time -- sometimes most of an hour -- but eventually I can get up. My husband has cultivated the lovely habit of waking me up by rubbing my sore spots (which he knows very well after 15 years). Five minutes of his big, warm hands rubbing down my back, from neck down to calves, will usually be enough to get circulation going and thus dispel most of the pain. After another few minutes' rest and stretch, I'm usually feeling good enough to get up and into the shower. I also keep my laptop and a backrest next to the bed, so I can at least sit up and answer e-mail or something while my body decides to join the land of the living. Some days -- especially when I'm herxing -- I never get much beyond that point.
