Guest guest
Lousy luck Lucy but don't try to beat it. Rest and get your strength back and remember, there have been plenty of past winners who have overcome terrible sickness and injuries, and still been Champions. Their stories help keep perspective. Having said that, a cold is the pits, so keep warm, sleep a lot, (hubby's turn to babysit!) take great care of yourself and you'll be back on your feet in no time. Fortunately it seems that the better your system is working, the less often colds attack us and the more quickly we can recover - so that's great motivation for the future. All the best, Leaner. Guest guest
, That's how I describe what I get. It hurts in my jaw and teeth. That's why I have been to the ER so many times. The symptoms feel like a heart attack. Gayle
Guest guest
Yes, I get the "tightness" in the jaw right before I get the chest pains from the spasms.
Guest guest
I also have TMJ. I didn't know that I even had it until I went to the ear, nose, throat Dr. a couple of times for an earache and he kept telling me my ear was fine. Then it was both ears, so I went back and he figured it out. It doesn't bother me much at all except an occasional earache. Guest guest
Roxana, I was somewhat upset when I read your email... Your daughter has not been vaccinated...With the out break of small pox, whopping cough, and others, I wondered... Now I am a big believer in home doctoring...I do not run to the doctor everything the kids get a runny nose and I am not real crazy about antibiotics... And I wish your child very well...I was just wondering what would happen if she came in contact with any of these listed above... Before Christmas, there was a case of whopping cough at Jasa's school...So this is not just something that everyone is trying to scare us with... Guest guest
, Speaking as a nurse that also works in the ED you need to take that baby to the doctor pronto! Do not mess around with a child that young. I understand you prefer to steer clear of " masking medicines " I do so myself. However the damage and the potential for danger with a child so young is there! You can have damaged hearing, sinuses and pneumonia. Not only that there are deadly infections that a baby can obtain that they are not able to withstand due to their age and small size. I just strongly urge you to not mess around and get that baby in to see a doctor. Cate
Guest guest
You might try yellow root tea. I have found that echinecea only works for me if I catch the cold the first day. However, yellow root is, I think, the root of the goldenseal plant. The tea tastes awful, but will eventually be tolerable. When it is, you don't need it any more. I think you could probably get the root at a health food store or grocery. You boil the root until it looks a strong yellow and drink it down as hot as you can. Do this every four hours. The cure is usually overnight, but you have to get up and drink it every four hours. The Cherokee drink it at night because they say that it brings the light of the sun into their bodies. It works for me, but it really tastes awful. You can quell the taste somewhat by putting some jasmine tea in it, but then you don't know when you are finished with it. Might be a good thing to do with a child, and then, just have him drink it for a couple of days. This has worked better for me than goldenseal capsules. Good luck and Happy New Year. Guest guest
Hi there, Two weeks is a long time to have a serious cold, he may have a sinus infection or sinusitis. I understand how you feel about doctors and syrups (which are only masks - they do not cure or treat the problem), but you should take him in, especially since he is so young, and have him looked at. Let the doctor know you're not interested in masking the symptoms, but want to be sure there is nothing else going on. If you're up front, the doctor will have a better understanding of what you've come in for. Best wishes, Anita > Can n e body help. > > I have a 10 month old boy who used to go through the night, but since 2 > weeks ago he has had a rotten cold with a crocky chest and snotty nose

Guest guest
Hi Sara, I'm sorry your baby is sick. When she was young, my daughter used to get bronchitis, asthma, and other allergic gunk causing health problems. I do not know enough to recommend any eo/herb treatment, but I can tell what we had to do every few hours that was helpful. You sit down and place your legs straight out in front of you. Put your baby on your legs, on his tummy, with his head toward the floor. He should now be on an incline with his head lower than his feet. With one hand/forearm near the back of his knees, hold him so he does not fall. Cup your other hand and firmly pat your baby's back moving from closest to you toward his head. He may hate it and cry, but the medical people always told us that the baby crying just made the treatment work better. Since my daughter had significant problems, we had to do this for 30 minutes at a time. I imagine you could still benefit from doing it for a much shorter length of time. Good luck and please give that baby a hug and kiss for me. sage
Guest guest
I agree. Just to be sure there is nothing serious. If it's just a regular old cold there are e.o.'s you can use but, in very minute amounts. If there is an infection it can get to the ears and cause hearing loss and pain and an unhappy baby. Hope he's better soon. Barb D. ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: " Anita L. Hi , No miracle cures, but you could try rubbing Snuffle babe ( mild Vick vapour rub, special for Babes) on his chest or Karvol capsules from the chemist, a few drops on the matress/pillow may help him sleep better, and plenty to drink Although if he has had a cold for two weeks I would consider the Dr. some allergies can present like a cold. -- Baz in Lancs UK soapsuds@... Guest guest
I do know a lot more people have re-researched this and now have changed their thinking. They do get their kids vaccinated. The reason so many diseases are not seen is because of the wide population of people that were vaccinated. One of those diseases is Smallpox. I know I too used to think we were all over vaccinated. However, it is the TYPE OF VACCINATION used that needs to be looked at. A live vaccine is one that has shown to cause more problems. I don't know about Arizona not having to have kids vaccinated and allowed to go to school. Being a nurse in Az. I have not seen them able to attend a public school without the major vaccinations! Guest guest
I know that in Arizona you can have your children in public/private school even if not vaccinated, all you need to do is sign some papers at the school offices. Not sure about all states, I had friends there whose children weren't fully inocculated and I asked about that and that was what they told me. Of course, all states are different, but you would be surprised at how many ways there are around things! I have my children vaccinated but I don't frown upon those who don't. It is their choice that I'm sure they did alot of studying about before making their decision. I know I would do anything to ensure my children have a long, happy, prosperous life and I think most parents feel that way. Who knows, they could be right and I could be wrong?? I don't know! Have a good one~ Re: Cold Roxana, Please get your child's vac's up to date. It could save her sweet life.
