Guest guest
Wow! Thanks so much for those video links. My daughter was just diagnosed with Lyme (using Igenex testing) and has already been taking LDN for a skin condition. Her doctor, who is also an LLMD, told her that LDN helps with the herxing from the Lyme treatment. She’s doing a series of 30 hyperbaric oxygen treatments first, and then starting antibiotics. I’m hoping she’ll do well. We’re having some trouble with her misinformed boyfriend, who means well but keeps asking conventional doctors (medical people in his family) about his girlfriend’s diagnosis and is being told it’s bullshit because we “don’t have Lyme in California.” These videos will be a great help in educating him. I wish the conventional medical establishment here in the US was better at detecting Lyme than they are in Canada, but I think it’s about the same. She went through several doctors before we went to see the one who diagnosed her, and he’s an LLMD. He’s also the guy I’ve been seeing for years, the same one who turned me on to LDN. I feel fortunate to have such a great resource on my doorstep. Would you mind reposting the links to the vids that include a mention of LDN with Lyme? Guest guest
Hi; new to group I recently was put on this low dose med and am trying really hard to understand; however after just going through that last couple of chats and the others before that I think I am more confused than ever. I always thought I would be working til 65 and probably lieing about my age just to keep on working but health problems have plagued me for almost 16 plus years; think closer to 20 but memory plays a big part in this. I do have fibromyalgia which I have had longer than I have been staying home for but remission has not seen this person for over 3 years and the doc finally put me on this drug to give it a chance to see if it will help. We have exhausted most things; gone holistically over the years as well, so I am stumped to the last info sent out on the daily digest 6439. Am I on the wrong site. I do know that this med is used for various problems as it has also mentioned MS which my daughter has and I do not; so again I ask, am I on the right site. If this more a site for just chatting about the problem or is it more for letting us know more about our problems and what to look forward too. Would appreciate some help. thks Lin
Guest guest
This is a confusing topic. I started my sickness " voyage " w/ optic neuritis, MS, Rebif. The Rebif darn near killed me / was the beginning of the end of my life. LDN was much better as it didn't kill me. Currently taking 4.5 mg/ day now. My early major sign that something was terribly wrong, was the speed that my illness was taking my health! I found an article in UpToDate that reported a 26 year time between MS diagnosis and use of a cane. For me, it was about 2 years between MS diagnosis and use of a cane. After much gnashing of teeth, I hired a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD), and was diagnosed w/ Lyme disease. Caution: I'm still extremely puny. Not all LLMDs are equally talented. Don't be afraid to switch docs. I've written much on Lyme disease here on the LDN board. Use the search function to find my detailed posts on the topic. Guest guest
Lin there are a lot of folks in the group here using LDN for fibro. I believe there is also an off shoot group specific to LDN and fibro. I know there is for IBS (crohn's, ulcerative colitis, etc) which I am a member of. This main group is often for folks just starting out, general questions about all aspects of LDN, etc.Did you have specific questions?Jaxi On Thu, Dec 23, 2010 at 8:40 AM, Lin <safehaven@...> wrote: Hi; new to group I recently was put on this low dose med and am trying really hard to understand; however after just going through that last couple of chats and the others before that I think I am more confused than ever.
