Hi Bev,

Once I settled down on my thyroid meds for the first time in my life I had

dry skin on my face, particularly the bridge of the nose and between what is

left of my eyebrows! Six months on, my skin is back to oily again on my face

like it used to be.

My feet and shins were the worst for dryness. I have had cracked heels all

my life but that changed on meds, and they have stayed relatively soft,

thank God. I was always snagging tights and stirring up a snowstorm of dead

skin cells when I took tights off at the end of the day!!

Bev,

Hard to say really. But if pushed I would say it was the separate T3 being

added that helped. Plus I take a cocktail of vitamin supplements daily. I do

know B12 helps me. I resisted anti-depressants recently and I am glad I did

because I am nothing like how I was in mid February when my employers sent

me home, because I was crying all the time for no particular reason. I was a

mess with the brain fog, and feeling stupid because I kept forgetting things

at work.

I take all the vitamin supplements that are either required or made after

conversion of our T4 into T3.

I found a site that explained the break down of the process.

Tyrosine 500mgs

Thyroid hormone is made from Tyrosine once it is converted into

Phenylalanine (I do not take the latter separately)

At this stage Iron is needed to make this conversion, so I take an Iron and

Vit C combined tablet.

Moving onto the thyroid gland itself and further conversion, manganese is

used so I take 10mgs. At this stage you need L- Lysine and L- Tyrosine

500mgs each.

Reaching the liver, good T3 conversion is dependent upon zinc and selenium

25mgs and 200mgs respectively.

Once converted, pottasium makes the cells more responsive to T3 activity so

I take 99mgs of that.

I take my omega 3,6,9 in one tablet, and B12 throughout the day in doses of

up to 2000-3000mgs at a time.

I take a bunch of other stuff as well, specific for my hair and skin, and I

am good to go! All I am doing is mimicking what my thyroid is supposed to do

on its own, the meds are still necessary of course. This works for me.

I wish! We count summer on the fingers of one hand in the U.K! I am up at

the unseemly hour of 3.10 a.m. sorting my emails into folders. Sad aren't I?

I napped earlier in the evening, and that is why I am acting

uncharacteristically (being hypo) like a night owl!!!

This will be my last posting for the night, God Bless we'll no doubt talk

again, so enjoy the day ahead of you,

CONGRATS on the weight loss Connie. I have made 98 pounds and can't wait for

the 100 mark! By the end of next week, it should be 100! Only 50 more to go!

I am very happy for you!

I everyone. I am doing great recovering from my back surgery. I am so glad I

had it done. I have lost 40lbs so far since I have been off the prednisone, It

has been about 10 months. Some times I loose 10 lbs in a week. I feel so much

better. My goal is to at least loose as much wt. as I gained with the prednisone

which was 50lbs.

I haven't seen my hepatologist since last Nov. Although I do have an

appointment in Dec. I am so afraid I will have to have another biopsy, mine

first one was a very bad experience. I will never allow a hometown surgeon to do

it again.

Thank you for your kind words.

Jennie, first of all, I am listening to my body as to what it needs. Sometimes

it is carbs, veges, fruit, etc. It has been working for me. HOWEVER, in the

beginning, I just cut back to around 500 calories in order to get a jump start.

Now, though, I am TRYING to keep it at no more than 1000 a day. It usually

banks out around 800.

I exercise every day. I use the therabands, weights, the big balance ball, and

a 5 pound weighted ball. Today, I ran around the house for 15 minutes and did

arm lifts part of the time while I was running. I just had a knee replacement

in June, and have been able to sort of jog now and I am THRILLED! IT is

exciting to be able to do more than walk! Granted, it is not a full run, but it

is faster than a fast walk. It has been many years since I have been able to do

this! YIPEE!

I have always found that exercising for me is the key. I am trying to do

different things. Most of my exercise works on the core of my body...to

strengthen the core muscles. Once that is strong, balance is stronger, and I

have more energy!

Jennie, you can do it! I know you can. It is a long journey. I have been

working off and on for 2 years, but now I have decided to just get mya ct

together. I have foods that are low calorie.....celery, crackers, apples and it

is wonderful to eat. Actually, apples are delicious right now! I eat at least

two a day! I know that helps.

Well, I believe in you and I KNOW you can do it. I have been stuck at the 98

pound, but I WILL get that 100 mark this week.......I know I can do it!

Hi Debby,

congratulations on your weight loss, that's just great! I'm

trying to lose weight myself, anf my diet sounds very much like

yours. So fari I've lost about 20 kg (about 45 lb), about 1 kg

per week which was what the doctors recommended. At a faster rate

the liver values may go up, and in fact mine have actually gone

up a bit even at this rate. Have you had any changes in the liver

values?

I'm not able to exercise much at the moment, but the weight seems

to go down anyhow. My problem has always been that I don't lose

weight on the " normal " , Weight Watcher type 1500 calories/day

diets. Exercise doesn't seem to make much difference with me,

either, since I used to be a very athletic vegetarian :-) , but

still considerably overweight (although not as much as at the

moment). Knowing this I've now tried to get used to the idea that

this is how the rest of my life is going to be, dietwise - if I

go over 1000 calories per day on a regular basis, I start putting

on weight. Then again, I don't feel hungry on the 800-1000

calories, so I probably really don't need lots of calories, or

rather, my system is able to use up the calories very efficiently.

For people with normal metabolism I think it's best to start with

a higher amount of calories per day, say 1200-1500, because once

the body gets used to a certain amount, the weight loss may slow

down or stop altogether, and the calorie intake has to be reduced

in order for it to continue. That is easier if the initial

calorie intake is higher.

I've been stuck several times already, as well, the weight has

even gone up a few times, but in the end it always continues to

go down. So, just hang on in there! :-D

Jaana, this weight loss has been much trial and error on my part. For me,

sticking to 8900-1000 calories per day has been working for me. If I get

hungry, I have learned to " listen " to what my stomach is really telling me.

For example, if I am craving sweets, I will eat an apple or some fruit. Then,

there are times, when I crave veges. Meat is way down the list, although, we

had company this last weekend and I made a very nice roast, so I have been

munching on a bit of it but not much. It seems that too much red meat makes my

stomach hurt! I think because it is very high in fat. Every time I eat red

meat, my stomach hurts. I have not had any butter at all for months. Just

won't eat it. (I have plenty of fat for reserve!)

The neatest thing is that I have found that the fruit and veges are sooooo

sweet. Sweeter than sugar at times. I use salt and pepper for seasoning, and

have been amazed at the sweet taste of real food!

Now for the exercise. Since I have had the knee replacement, I have been able

to exercise so much more effectively. I can jog around the house for 15-20

minutes (a mild miracle because to jog for more than 1 minute earlier was total

disaster!) I incorporate the physical therapy exercises that I have been given

with core workouts. Apparently, when the core of your body is strong, the

muscles in that group will help burn off the fat.

I watch " The Biggest Loser " each week...not for the program but for all of the

ideas for exercise that they have. I have discovered many good ideas for the

exercise program. And, if you notice, most of the people who had a very big

girth about the middle, have lost a lost of the fat which has been because the

trainers work on the core of their bodies.

Anyway, this is what has worked for me. It has taken a lot of different tries,

but now I have found what works for me.

I wish you luck!

I know just how you feel & so do others i've spoke to on here about there weight

lose. I haven't been on the program as long as you but I have also lost alot

weight being on the candida diet. My weight is down to 111 lbs. & my height is

5'5. I'm just hoping after I get my body back into balance with this yeast I can

add more foods back that can help put some healthy pounds on again. I also feel

like i look like a anorexic & so do alot people around me. I'm a grown woman but

I have my mom on the phone asking me am I eating. So I know exactly how you feel

& its pretty much the same way I'm feeling.

is my weight. I have been able to manage looking skinny. But over the last week

or two it's gone to a new level.

I also know how you feel. I recently posted that I have been on the diet four

months and look emaciated. I am about 5'6 and weigh about 98 pounds-maybe less.

I am afraid to get back on the scale because if someone asks me how much I weigh

I can honestly say I don't know. I have had to take up my clothes so they don't

fall off of me. I have also been thrift store shopping to find some things that

fit as I can't afford to buy a new wardrobe. I am just trying to have faith that

what I am doing is working and as many have said we will eventually gain back to

a healthy weight. The hard part is that people who look at us think we must be

incredibly ill and think that we are nuts to be doing this diet since we look so

bad! I look forward to one day being healthier and stronger than ever before and

being a testimony to the fact that this diet does work. In my heart I believe

that is true or I wouldn't continue doing it. I must believe that-it gives me

the courage to go on when on the outside things look the opposite. I encourage

you to keep on keeping on! If you want to email me privately so we can cry on

each other's shoulders-feel free. I think having each other's support is very

important as the vast majority of us probably don't have a lot of understanding

and support from those we associate with on a regular basis. Take care and God

Bless You!

weight.

>

+++Hi . There lots of calories on this program because of the high good

fats, which are 9 calories per gram, whereas protein and carbs are only 4

calories per gram. If you go to www.fitday.com and enter all of the foods you

are consuming on this program you can get a total calorie count too which will

prove that you are getting enough calories.

This program is about the " kinds of calories " anyway, which are the ones that

are healing your body.

Weight is the least of your problems when you are unhealthy. And also your body

needs to use all of its resources and nutrients in order to heal itself before

it will be using them to build up muscle or fat tissues.

Eventually your body weight will normalize as you progress on this program.

All the best, Bee

don't know what to do at this point! Like I told you before...I've never been

overweight and have never had cellulite. I now have cellulite all over my thighs

down to past my knee and my butt. I'm gaining 2-3 lbs a week and have been for

over 2 months now. Last week I gained 3.5 lbs and I didn't do anything

differently. I've already cut my carbs in half of what my ratio should be and I

rarely even eat that many. I have about 10-15g carbs/day right now. I have Bee's

Egg Drink everyday for breakfast and lunch. I'm wondering if maybe my body is

absorbing all these nutrients so much it's contributing to the weight gain?

Should I start to eat more solid meals? Should I cut back on butter? I have 3-4

tbsp a day right now along with my 6 tbsp of CO and 1 tbsp of Cod liver oil. I

don't know what else to do! I'm just getting so uncomfortable right now and

Hi Bee,

According to my height I am only 5 lbs more than what I should be at my highest

weight for my height. When I first started your program I lost a lot of weight

and was underweight for awhile so that's why I'm not more overweight right now

but I'm scared it will keep increasing. My lowest fat intake should be 150g but

I usually eat about 170g per day. Should I stick more around 150g or should I go

even lower for awhile?

Thanks Bee!

I don't know what else to do! I'm just getting so uncomfortable right now and

should I go even lower for awhile?

+++Hi . Fear will cause you a lot of stress, which isn't healthy.

Just stay the course on the program and don't change anything. 5 lbs., give or

take, can be a normal weight fluctuation for most people anyway.

still, but just adding small amounts even could cause weight gain, right?

+++Hi ,

You do not require carbs in order to have normal body weight. That's why the

Eskimos are so healthy on their natural diet of only meats and fats.

That's why carbs aren't necessary for human health - start by learning some of

these facts:

Hi,

So, does this mean that we can eliminate the carb part of the protein/carb/fat

grams found on the nutritional calculators? Or not worry about getting as many

grams of carbs into our meals as the calculator calculates?

That seems to be the most difficult part of figuring out what to put in a recipe

or meal sometimes.

Hi Ruth,

It means that you should not worry about getting as many grams of carbs as the

calculator indicates. It's better if you can eat less carbs since they feed

candida.

At the same time, it's very important to know what your carb intake is so that

you ensure you aren't going over your limit.

All the best,
