Guest guest Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I am losing my confidence in my Lyme treatment and need some positive re-enforcement from others that the treatment has worked for, if it has. I am on 400 doxycyline and have had Lyme for probably alot of years before recently being diagnosed. All my symptoms are neuropsychiatric, anxiety, depression, brainfog, fatigue etc and I need to be reassured that oral doxycline will work for that and how long on average I should expect it to take for some improvement. Thanks so much Quote

I ALSO NEEDED TO FIND A LYME LITERATE DR BECAUSE I KEPT HEARING AND READING ABOUT LYME CO-INFECTIONS AND THAT SOME OF THE CO-INFECTIONS, MAINLY BABESIA, HAS TO BE TREATED BEFORE THE Bb BACTERIA. IT TOOK 3-1/2 YEARS BEFORE I FOUND A TRUE LLMD. SHE TESTED ME FOR SEVERAL CO-INFECTIONS. I WAS GIVEN A BLOOD TEST FOR BABESIA, BUT IT WAS NEGATIVE. AFTER REVIEWING MY SYMPTOMS SHE GAVE A CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS AND STARTED TREATMENT RIGHT AWAY. I TESTED POSITIVE FOR EHRLICHIA AND BARTENELLA. DO YOU HAVE A LYME LITERATE DR? HAVE YOU BEEN TESTED FOR CO-INFECTIONS? REALLY IMPORTANT!! YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN DENIAL ABOUT CO-INFECTIONS, THEY ARE COMMON. A LYME LITERATE DR WILL KNOW ALL ABOUT THE CO-INFECTIONS AND WILL TEST YOU OR ASK APPROPERIATE QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR SYMPTOMS. A GOOD LLMD WILL SEE BABESIA SYMPTOMS WITHOUT NEEDING TO DO BLOOD WORK. THERE ARE OVER 30 DIFFERENT STRAINS OF BABESIA AND BLOOD TESTS FOR ONLY TWO. A CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS WILL BE MADE BY A GOOD LLMD. PLEASE CHECK OUT THE BURRASCANO REPORT AT ILADS.ORG IT IS A COMPREHESIVE REPORT ON CURRENT LYME FINDINGS AND TREATMENTS. COVERS CO-INFECTIONS AND MEDICATIONS, NUTRITION AND MUCH CURRENT RESEARCH FINDINGS. HE IS AN AMAZING LYME LITERATE DR, CONFERENCE SPEAKER AND ADVICATE FOR EDUCATIONG DRS AND LYME PATIENTS. GO TO ILADS.ORG CLICK ON ARTICALS AND PRESENTATIONS, YOU WILL SEE DR JOSEPH BURRASCANOS NAME. CLICK ON THAT AND THE REPORT WILL COME UP. HANG IN THERE AND KEEP RESEARCHING AND ASKING QUESTIONS. Quote

Guest guest Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Thanks that was really helpful advice. I am negative for Babesia and being checked for Bartonella. Were your symtpoms neuropsychiatric in nature when you got better from Doxy. I know doxy works but wonder if anyone gets better using it for Neuropsychiatirc lyme? Did it help you with anxiety depression, brainfog, memory etc...? Based on my symptoms it is unlikely I have Babesia but possibly Bartonella. Guest guest Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Thanks . Did you ever use IV antibiotics, if so for how long. It scares me that it took you years to feel any better. Did you get any relief from the depression/anxiety in the first few months. I don't think I could handle feeling this bad for two years. > I am losing my confidence in my Lyme treatment and need some positive > re-enforcement from others that the treatment has worked for, if it > has. Guest guest Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 sean You must not worry about how you will fell...you must get to know the herx feeling and get on with your life....then you will feel better when the time comes...you cannot rush this....you are on the right path and stop worrying...the anxiety will clear as will the depression....it takes along time to clear the inflamation around your body...doxy works very well....trust me! eric highlandave98 <seanmiller1@...> wrote: Thanks . Guest guest Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 What was your first and second type of IV? Do you think the depression was from the iv, or the feeling ill and sick from the healing process, or??? In a message dated 2/27/2006 1:46:31 P.M. The doc changed my antibiotics and am functioning better now. Keep talking to your doctor and telling them what is happening. Keep writing to us and talking so you know that its completely expected to get depressed, etc. Are you taking magnesium? Thats once of the minerals that is depleted by lyme. I found that I got better and better, with diminishing neuro symptoms taking either doxy and Flagyl or biaxin and Flagyl. My body didn't tolerate the flagyl well, so I would only take it 2 days a week. But it helped a lot. Now my body won't tolerate antibiotics at all. The irritate every cell in my body, it seems, including my brain. Now, my doctor has me following at least some of the Buhner protocol, flucanozole, samento (cat's claw), and resveratrol and I think I'm beginning to notice a bit of an improvement. Good luck! Never give up. Deanna Quote
Guest guest Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Thanks for your info that is great the Dxoy works and I hope you are getting better these days on Abx that are working for you. I have already taken the Burrrascano quiz and it helped alot. I am now checking for co-infections but that was good advice. > > > > > > > > I am losing my confidence in my Lyme treatment and need some > > positive > > > > re-enforcement from others that the treatment has worked for, if > > it > > > > has.
