Guest guest
Tom, Someone may have already said this, but with lyme fog I can't remember! But you may want to download Dr. Burrascano's guidelines and take them with you to the doctor visit. I THINK it's at ilads.org, maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong! Let us know how the visit goes... Beth [ ] Now I'm Worried Greetings...Thanks to everyone for the support you've given since I joined a few days ago. I'm still trying to find my way around in this Lyme World, and probably will for a long time to come. As I posted yesterday, I've been feeling pretty bad since completing 20 days of Doxycycline. I woke up with a pounding headache this AM, just as I have for the past 5 or 6 days, plus extra weak / stiff / and sore. After some coffee and tylenol, I decided to ask my family doctor for a 10 day supply of Doxycycline - if it wouldn't hurt anything, I thought it might help this " herxing " thing that I'm going through. Just to be safe, I also ran it by my new specialist's assistant (my first appointment is on 10/7). I just got off of the phone with the assistant - she is going to double check with the doctor. She told me that the normal treatment for Lyme is 30 days, not 20. I let her know that (if I have Lyme), I've had it for at least 3 years, and I didn't think 30 days of meds was going to cure me. I also told her that I'd read where many Lyme patients have to take anti-biotics for 6 months to 4+ years. When I mentioned my findings to her, she told me that you shouldn't take antibiotic pills for very long since they can damage your liver and immune system. I asked her what she thought the Lyme was doing to my body. This sent up red flags to me - she's the assistant, and not the doctor, who I've been assured is Lyme literate. I'm hoping he's prepared to give me a complete treatment - I've already had 3 years of my life on hold due to illness. I'll keep my appointment with him on 10/7, but I'm arming myself with lots of knowledge before the meeting. If my new doctor is like his assistant, then I'm worried. I'm also collecting the names of Lyme specialists in PA in case I need to see one outside of my health plan...Tom

Its a catch 22. Let the Lyme go and it will infect and damage organs. I would rather deal with antibiotic problems then arrythmias, mental etc If my new doctor is like his assistant, then I'm worried. Guest guest
Hi Jackie, When you say NOTHING taste good. That sounds more like a mental thing to me--that was my first thought when I read your post. We actually morn the loss of food and how we used to eat and what we ate and how we ate. This is all part of the "head" thing and sometime we have "head hunger" and you have the opposite of that--lack of anything tasting good. I would suggest that you make sure you get the 70 grams of protein a day and anything else you can force yourself to try to eat--it really is important. It may have to be mind over matter. Sip on the water all day long, you don't have to like the taste of it, but you NEED to have some food and water. You have done nothing wrong, this is just a fact of life--our minds play tricks on us. We always are so excited about dropping the weight, that NEVER once do we every consider that we may have some mental things going on in our life over the loss of the food that we use to eat and the way we use to eat and good we thought things tasted when we were overeating or eating all the wrong things. If this does not improve I highly suggest that you go see your doctor and have them draw some blood and check your levels on everything to rule out any medical issues. It is better to be safe than sorry. This is just a trick that you mind may be playing on you. Some of us have been done this road, so do what you need to do to be healthy. Guest guest
This is normal, I am a month out and I have to make appointments to eat or else I won't eat, I still have no real hunger, that is the beauty of the sleeve. You are fine, enjoy this time, I know I am, my life no longer revolves around eating.DougSent on the TELUS Mobility network with BlackBerryFrom: "Jackie" <jackieandgirls24@...>Date: Tue, 06 Apr 2010 19:06:16 -0000< >Subject: Now I'm Worried I am 11 days post op and everyone at work keeps telling me my coloring isnt good.
