I am wondering if it crosses over to all shellfish ( HORRORS!!! I am a seafood NUT!) How do you deal with it? if I fry fish and shrimp, do I need to do the fish first? UGH! Of all the allergies to have LOL > The allergic reaction is usually caused by iodine and does involve other shellfish. My immunology professor in college had this problem and loved shrimp. He put himself on a desensitization program where he started with a very small amount of shrimp each day and worked up to a larger portion over time. If you are frying both fish and shrimp make sure and fry the fish first. As for other shellfish try eating just a little bit the next time you have some and see what happens. Hope this helps,
Guest guest
For some people, even " just a little bit " can be severe to life threatening. Possibly, see an allergist. Thanks , dont know if that will help me as I normally eat shrimp at least once a week, would rather eat seafood than any other meat. I forgot when I mentioned the recent breakout that I had a lobster dinner for my BD. Will have to look into this, I cant imagine cutting shellfish out of my diet HORRORS! LOL Thanks for the reply
