Guest guest
FYI...I'm not sure if everyone else is receiving partial messages when I send, but 95% of the time that I send an email to Lyme Aid, I receive it in my inbox with the last several sentences missing, and sometimes the paragraphs are " smashed " together. The last message I sent was complete when sent, but partial when I received it. I'm running a test to see if I can send the full message this time around: Sandy...I have a " face thing " like you describe. One of the numerous doctors I've seen in the past year diagnosed it as roseacea. Maybe that's what you have also? Whenever I'm in a crowded room, or the heat is too high in the room, my face - cheeks and forehead turn bright red. I can feel the inflammation before I even look in the mirror. I've had this for years - prior to Lyme - but I can say that it occurs more frequently now that I have Lyme. I meet with a group once a week in a smaller room at a local church rectory. During the Winter, the heat just keeps blowing out of the vents. The other's in the room have on turtle necks, heavy sweaters, some keep their coats on. All look comfortable - those who are Caucasian, have white faces. Then there's me - sitting out of the vent's heat path, wearing ankle socks, and a short sleeved t-shirt - and my entire face glowing bright red, and sometimes throbbing. I actually look like I'm sunburned. Oh well, it's just another of many things - including restless leg syndrome, that I've learned to live with. It's never easy...Tom [ ] Other symptoms do these fit lyme? I have been posting about my long illness and the worst symptoms being the flu like feeling and all over weakness then sleepy/spcy. Some of the other things that are bothersome but I can live with. My face will get red no and off during the day when it does this my nose will be either hot and having a throbbing feeling like when you thaw out from the cold, and then it will be cold and feel like it would warming up. Sometimes my nose just feels numb buts its not. This is not anything that makes life unbearble I just wondered if any of this had happened to anyone else. It gets more of those red capillries in it now and never had those before. I don't think it is lupus but some of the pictures look a little like it. My feet and hands are always cold especially feet. This started 3 years ago. I wear socks inside all year around. I have a very strange swelling in my sublingual glands that never goes down and has thick stringy mucus in it. Sorry for the description. Two different ENT Drs did not know what it was. Sometimes I think it effects swallowing food, it does not hurt and it is just from the midline all the way back. It looks like all the veins are swollen. My MD got a little freaked when I showed him and then my psycharist thought I should post pictures on the internet of it to see what responses would come up. My skin looks dryier and last year I decided I would not get to much sun so I bought a self tanner. Where my skin was dry it would not go into the dried cracks and then I looked like someone with scales. I don't know if I am making sense but even after putting on a lotion my legs looked like the dried cracks wanted to separate, the self tanner would not absorb in the cracks. I have had low ferritin 8 on a normla of 11-200, then rechecked after taking iron and then it was up to 11. That was a year ago and I don't know if it was because of being female but not had a period in a year. I have had my toenails come completely off. This has happened on several different occasions. They have grown back and I mentioned it to my Dr he says I have bad circulation. I have excellent cholestrol and the homeocystein test good. I do not have any ankle reflexes on either leg. They have been checked about 4 different times and they are just not there. Dr said could be thyroid but the medication did not help and I was just low normal. My arms feel like they have rubber bands around them and are going to sleep. So has anybody else felt these things? Well these are secondary symptoms not the bad ones but just wondered if they sounded familar. I learn more here than on any medical web site and I really appreciate everyones help. We have to stick together, and I feel that I have more here than any place I have ever had for understanding. I pray we will all have our lives back someday. Thanks, Sandy
