You can't just keep throwing money at things; eventually the money runs out, and Medicare is a politicized as everything else in this country. There may be countries that have great national health systems, outside of GB and Canada, which are not stellar examples, but could a great system happen here? I don't think so. Too much politics and too many people whose palms need greasing here, and who need to be paid off. Cynical? Yes, but any other view would be naive. Living in Chicago sure gives me a view of what politics is like and it gives me a bad taste in my mouth. They can't run anything right! Public transporation is a mess, Amtrak (national rail) is a mess, infrastructure is a mess, and you think these baboons could put in and have a national healthcare system that is run well?
