I've been with my husband 7 yrs and he doesn't have it either. My first

husband never got it either...Before I go saying it can be without a doubt

sexually transmitted I like to see medical proof that it is.. So far I haven't

seen

any..

Hi I am new here

I have not been diagnosed with Lyme, just CFS because I live in the

UK, and they dont 'do' Lyme over here.

In case you dont know already, the symptoms of CFS and Lyme are

identical.

My grandmother had what she called 'very bad rheumatism',

my mother was diagnosed with 'fibrositis' and 'psychosomatic

disorders';

my aunt has been diagnosed with FMS; an illness so close to CFS that

there is virtually no difference. ( and it used to be called

Fibrositis in the old days)

and I was diagnosed with CFS nine years ago.

My grandmother grew up in an area of Ireland that I have recently

discovered is teeming with infectious ticks.

I also know a man who has been diagnosed with 'CFS' (in England again

so no Lyme here lol)

and who's wife then later 'got CFS',

and whose sister then 'got CFS' many years after he did.

None of us has any recollection of ever being bitten, although I

never asked my grandmother of course, and she would be the most

likely carrier within my family, anyway.

I am not suggesting it is merely sexually transmitted, but I heard

from another Lyme sufferer that it is extremely infectious through

the blood; and that person is convinced that it can definitely be

carried this way from mother to child.

I also heard that some people who are genetically very strong, would

never ever catch this kind of illness, its only us unlucky ones,

genetically weaker, whose bodies are more susceptible; for instance,

my ex-husband is as strong as an ox still.

I heard too, that health workers are trying to keep a lid on it, keep

the facts hidden because of the panic etc that might ensue if the

truth got out.

I was told by an American lady with Lyme, that Lyme disease is

carried by a spyrocete (sp?), one which is highly infectious between

humans.

Perhaps the health workers are right to keep a lid on it?

Or maybe it is only a coincidence that so often members of the same

family get this 'non-infectious' illness.

Maybe it is not relevent that it comes from the bite of an infected

insect in the first place, after all, considering how it is

contracted why should we ever think it might be infectious eh?

How is it that Lyme can be so highly infectious through blood between

insect and human, but then they tell us it is not at all infectious

through blood between human and human?

I know this is mainly hearsay and musings,

but it is still food for thought I think.

That is true the symptoms of Lyme and CFS as well as FMS are

identical. If you were not bit by a tick or do not have a positive

blood tests after the recommended time periods, then most likely it

is not Lyme's. Of course, you could have had Lyme and it caused, so

to speak FMS or CFS.

I don't buy the conspiracy theory. I have tons of friends who are

nurses and I work all day long in doctor's offices all of the time

for pharmaceutical research. In talking to them about Lyme, there

just does not appear to be any cover-up. Time will tell.

In my experience, none of the above is true.

I never was aware of a tick bite, and tested negative. But I am quite ill

with late stage disseminated Lyme.
